Finally got the halo in my beater Mazda. Doing the rest of the safety stuff now . Need a jacket .. Any input ??

NHRA tracks
9.99 or faster or over 135mph

sfi 3.2A/5 multi layer
just search sfi 5 jacket
also need a sfi 3.3 neck collar (i went with simpson) , if you run a hans instead of a neck collar you need a head sock or skirted helmet
also need sfi5 pants , sfi 3.3/1 gloves

full face SFI2005 (expires 2017) or newer helmet (no open face)
good idea to wear cotton undergarments.. socks , tshirt and underwear (no polyester agaisnt your skin) . sfi race shoes are not required but they are light comfortable

chassis needs...
the cage to be certified with a current sticker
certification only deals with the cage ..

once at tech they should need to see (not that they do their job all the time)
all your safety gear clothing above
your NHRA comp license
SFI helmet date sticker (M2005 or newer SA2005 or newer )
SFI 16 5 point harness date of manufacture label on all belts (expiration is two years from manufacture date on labels ) , also should check belt mounting
(if OE seat the crotch belt can go around the front of seat ..does not need to go through the seat )
if aftermarket seat the seat back needs to be braced (good idea to brace the oe seat anyway)
a window net with latch inside of the tubes (they dont expire) ,
SFI rollbar padding anywhere helmet can touch bar
sfi balancer / sfi flexplate
sfi converter shield and sfi trans shield ,
driveshaft loop, aftermarket axles , positive retention on axles (no c-clips)
no mini spool
overflow bottle
tires need steel stems and lugstuds need to engage lugnuts properly (threads need to grab at least the thickness of the stud into the lugnut past the washer if used )
remote shutoff switch (should be labeled and should kill ignition and pump)
battery properly secure ..if battery is in trunk it should be in a battery box vented outside the car and properly secured , if no box need a firewall
if fuel cell in trunk you need a firewall
if over 150mph you need a chute

Just to expand on this a little, I notice that Our local track (LVD) has been getting real particular on the trunk mounted battery hold-downs. They really want the battery secured to the frame if possible and not just fastened to the floor where bolts and washers can pull through the sheetmetal. They would also rather see the retaining strap or whatever you want to call it as one piece unit and not a welded together part.

Do it in style grumpy...

anyone need a sfi jacket, shoes (9), pants, and a full face helmet. all like new.

I think they're hitting this thread because the title says "jacket" and they crawl forums for keywords like that.

@Chuck Leeper - Another spam account above... Can this thread be locked? They'll keep hitting this thread since it discussed clothing.
