Anyone know what the stock turbo and converter quarter mile record is? I’ve just had a random thought and want to gun for that record. Will be building a capable engine and trans combo in the near future and just want something to shoot for at the moment.

Ed brewer went 11.3 on the stock motor ,intercooler and pump gas alky with a stock turbo,200r4,3.42 gears,at 28psi with a 12 inch converter.murphster went faster on a lighter car,ptc,xfi,turbo 400.pump gas alky car as well think he ran low 20s for boost and 11.teens if memory serves.i have put several cars in the 11s on stock stuff for people and I feel it's very hard to run 11s on a stock turbo with the weight up on the car.inmo ed and murphster are the 2 fastest I has seen or heard of on the stock stuff a feat that's not easy chase at your own risk

It's not the motor,the stock turbo is out of breath even on the stock motor.it will come down to weight and hook both murphster and ed had 1.4 60fts.pm murphster as he is the fastest stocker out there.

murprhsters 11.20 at 119 was a stock turbo and stock 109 engine i threw together , no porting or tricks anywhere ,the goal was to see what could be done with a motor basically as it came in 86 , stock timing set , lifters cam pushrods rockers plenum throttle body , only mods were shimmed up 980 valvesprings , 42lb injectors of which he only used half the injector duty , felro 9441 gaskets w/and arp head bolts becuase reusing oe bolts isnt good (but i have done it )

shimmed the valvesprings up to 103 # because he had tried higher boost and saw very high back pressurre and some valve flutter but we settled at just above 20psi so he really didnt need the .060 shim, the bigger key was keep rpm down and on his car i had put 3.23s in the rear combined with the ptc 18 blade 9.5 he never saw over 4850rpm, the same converter and rear got his car to 9.20 on his other109with gn1s and a 71hpq
