Ok, I've read wayyy too much on the subject and have no managed to clog my brain so bad it's pathetic. Ok, so here is the situation. I have RF components I hijacked from another project to put in the GN. Here is the basic question: Can I just plug the tweeters in where the dash speakers were and do the same with the door speakers and call it good OR do I need to run all new wires?

Somebody way smarter than me help.

Model numbers of what you are using and where, will help.

Power from an amp. or head unit? Specs.?

Factory Concert sound wiring is assumed?

I ran good wiring to from the head unit to the trunk where the amp (Really good Alpine 30w per channel iirc) is but just used the stock speaker wiring harness and replace the rear speaker with some pretty decent ones. Sounds good to me, Lawrence Welk or Glen Miller may notice a difference. Now if it were a super dumper high output amp than that would of been another story.

I used the plug in adapter and run the dash and door speakers off of a Pioneer head unit using the factory wiring.
I used speaker adapters to connect the rear deck wiring to a line level converter powering the rear deck speakers off a 20w RMS x 2 amp.

I did run new wires from the 1/2 DIN passive EQ to the 100w RMS x 2 amp powering the two Kicker Comp 12’s.

When using the stock head unit Infinity Reference series speakers are my favorite as they are very efficient and have good volume with minimal power. These have a high sensitivity of 93 db. Some kickers are as low as 85 db and require higher power to sound good/ loud.

As savageV6 mentioned it depends on what your doing.

Guess knowing what I'm using would help lol...RF R152-S for the front dash and door, RF 6x9 rear deck. For now, just going to use deck power off my Alpine 7292S. I'll be adding an old school RF Power 300 and sub later. Car came with concert sound.

You should be fine running those speakers off your Alpine head unit using the factory wiring.
If you’re looking for a competition setup by all means run high quality separate speaker wiring.

Your Alpine head unit will have plenty of power to run those speakers.

I added the 20w x 2 amp and rear deck speakers on the stock head unit and just left it when I upgraded to the Pioneer and subs.

I would run the rear deck speakers off the Alpine and see how you like it. You can add an amp latter if there’s not enough umph, but with subs I think you’re covered.

The front factory wiring is 18 gauge wire.

Rear speaker wiring is 20 gauge, both specs. from the service manual, not actually measured by me.

No problem even with 50 watt per channel amp. up front in MHO. although I run a bit more through mine.

This is good info. Thank you.
His Alpine head unit listed 50w per channel which is peak power, sounds good in the ads.
My Pioneer is listed the same, but is only 25w RMS.

FOR THE OP: As a reminder, the peak power is an exaggerated number with high distortion that sounds good for marketing.
The RMS (root mean square) is the normal high quality, low distortion power level that should be used to match components.
