160 lb injectors ??

Well Eric said no chips burned for 160's ................ I wonder why 120's but not 160's ?? Not sure what I'm going to do . I'm only going to need the equivalent of 140's max and still have a cushion . Can this be "cheated" with a higher base fuel pressure setting , as long as the pumps can keep up , or will there be drivability issues at low speed / idle ??
What if you switch to a sd2, can you run 160s then or is it not possible with the stock ecu? What about Bob Bailey maybe he can cut a chip for you.

I really like the simplicity of the 6.1 wideband chip and it works great at following a set AFR . Mr. Spool and I talk a lot and we're going to make it work with alky on top of E85 .

I would go 100 percent E85 with Eric’s new 125 # Bosch injectors hi ind don’t need to mod ecm ... That’s best injector Eric sells for these cars comes with stock EV1 connecton...add boost a pump and done.

Yes they’re expensive but about the best on the market.

Joe

fluctuations in ethanol content is already enough to be a pain in the ass.

I just had my injectors cleaned & flowed and they flow 130 lbs/hr . Plus I already have 2 modded ECM's . E85 & 120's are not new to me , they have been in for 4 years , but they will be maxed out with my new motor

Sam why don't you try running 160s with the 120 chip?? You have the ability to adjust -23% and the difference between 120 and 160 is around 28% seems you can lower base FP and let the chip do the rest. I would assume that your not already running Base WOT Fuel in the negative % range. If you are currently around 10% positive then you should be able to make it work no problem. Put the 160s in tune around it. At WOT the chip will still target to the AFR number you tell it. If you try and run more boost you are going to want to lower the target anyhow. I bet you will find it easier than you think to make it work.... Maybe start with a 20% decrease in base FP to start... If you are at 45 base, 20% of 45 is -9 (set to 36).. Worth a try

Food for thought , thanks for the idea . Base FP is at 49 psi now , so I should be able to test this out with my current set up and see how much it drops my duty cycle . I'm going to change out my pumps first , just because they've been in E85 for 41/2 years now and I don't want any failures .

Lemme know how it works and what you find. It might be something others are looking into as well

They and assume and think things will work/a guess, are things that one needs to know before they hit 35psi.gambling with the appropriate fueling when big boost is in play becomes expensive.eric does now how to and should cut 160s for guys that need them.but limiting the injector size and forcing guys to run high dollar ecu's in order to get the 160s with good fueling seems to be the new norm for the buick world

I'm going to have him put m1 from alkycontrol and I know how much to hit the car with pressure wise to ensure it has enough fuel.the cat can be skinned a few different ways

When you’re limited to your options then you have to start thinking outside the box… I’ve been running north of 30psi on pump gas and alcohol for years. But I agree… I don’t know why you couldn’t burn a chip for 160s, or send the 120 chip back and tell them you need 15 to 20% less fuel for drivability and 20% to 25% less at WOT. Seems that would get you close.

Use to think ur statement was right but not his intentions ...Eric mainly used Siemens deka which limits injector sizing.. until Eric now sells the Bosch hi ind 125#... they are excellent injector and most ppl won’t max them out..no mod to
ECM. Way better spray pattern, quality , etc... then Siemens boat injectors .

Yes but ur right there is a gray area between 120-160# for unmodded ECM due to Siemens inj. selection.

Could always swap in a race chip for the track...120’’s will go well over 150mph with race gas..
Would have to deal blending E85 and Alky.

This is just my thinking. Joe

Just heard about these,im going to have to research them more.. and not cheap $$
