SMC Alky Kit and Pump Has Quit - Advice

really ...I didn't know shurflo made a pressure switch higher than 100ps for these style pumps...must use a different spring or mod to them ...thats some serious psi o_O

McMaster Carr "rates" their nozzles at 40psi., 100psi., and 500 psi.

Although the OP didn't seem to much care about that from what I could see.

And it's the pump the OP may need to fix his kit not run 8's or spray at 500 psi.

28 bucks and a bit of work and he's good for another long stretch of time.

nope, they will give you gph flow at those psi numbers but the gph of say an m15 is 15gph and that is with specifically 100psi. when you go higher on psi they flow more, when psi drops you flow less

i get that and appreciate your trying to give him a lower cost alternate

they are modded, and have viton seals in them, they do a great job considering they are always in m1 methanol and need to create several hundred psi

10/4 that is what I was thinking ...the pressure switch must be modified to produce more than 100psi... the better surflo pumps come with Viton seals in them and the santoprene diaphragm ... a great pump for sure ...

M15 Flow Rate, gph
@ 40 psi9.49
@ 100 psi15
@ 500 psi33.54
Not a linear flow either, Shows 40psi. through 100psi. and a couple of M15's flow a lot of denatured alky. too.

I wasn't trying to give him any alternative, I was trying to answer his question. :)

Right it flows 15 gph at 100 psi that why they call it an m15,they would have to call it an m.949 at 40psi which they dont

Then tell him to get a real kit ;)

Here's what you get for a $35 replacement, good for 10-20 years, you know in a real kit...
