Make over time

Well, we know who cleared the shelves of armorall and metal polish. Haha
It looks fantastic!!!

Lol, it does see Mothers Polish a couple times a year, but doesn't see a ounce of Armoral or WD40 in the engine compartment. Basic cleaning is just me turning on my compressor and blowing air in the engine compartment and wiping what I see with a damp microfiber cloth.

WOW, very nice engine compartment too.
Another testament to your attention to detail!
Do you show this car as well as race it?

I want to move in to your garage !!! ;)

Yes I do take it to car shows and cruises as well as race it from time to time at track rental days, because there is no safety equipment on the car to warrant the power that is under the hood, but it sole purpose is for the street. If I can't drive it, I don't want it taking up space in my garage.

If all goes well, I will have it back in my hands by the end of the week.

Got the car back yesterday, the paint came out AMAZING!!! Now for massive amount of clean up that needs to be done to bring it back to the form I had it in before all this white powder got caked up everywhere under the hood , suspension you name it. What a mess. I have got my work cut out for me, but I am so happy to have it back in my garage.

I hear what you are saying about the mess and it's causing me to rage with the shakes and think of forms of torture and murder. There is no excuse for that. And every shop does it. I can get one of my minimum wage apprentice brain dead construction laborers to tape up and protect an entire commercial kitchen and every single appliance, food service area, closet, grill, air registers, draw, and even individual pots and pans if necessary. Then 10 guys can go in with a wet diamond blade saw, chipping guns, jack hammers, sledgehammers, sawzalls, blow the fucking place up! But when we are done you can prepare food and eat off every surface.

And yet not a single fucking body shop can protect an underside from dust? An engine compartment? Useless fucks should be shot!

Whoa, slow down there Starfire!

We work on super high end cars all day long, way fucking more expensive cars than a fuckin' Buick Regal, that's for damn sure. And even if we ARE working on a Buick (have one in the shop right now) you'll be able to eat off of it when we give it back to you. Inside and out, I guaran-dam-tee-ya.

You. Just you? Your the only one? Do you only do this to all those "high end cars" that I have embarrassed to suicide with my worthless Regal? But not to Regals? .

So, why don't you teach a class to the other million idiots on masking technique? I challenge any body shop to make me happy. I have even offered to pay double the asking the price to have my door painted if I was able to get my car back with not so much as even a smudge inside a wheel well . No one could promise me that. Not a single soul.

But now the holly messiah of auto-body work has arrived?

Neither can you in your business. NO you CAN'T. I have yet to find a true square 90 degree angle on any corner built by one of you're "brain dead laborers" since 1960. And just as in ANY profession, some are better than others. A cut above.

Why are you being so bitter? you disparaged a WHOLE industry with your word, think aboiut that. I've never disparaged you, why you wanna go there now?

Ya' been drinkin' a little or are you just experiencing cabin fever and need to take it out on someone? You're the one who attacked my industry, not the other way around.

YOU made it personal. That's bullshit, pal, and that's on you. Worst I've ever said about you is that you were a typical NY asshole, and YOU agreed. ;)

I don't drink. I'm not smart enough to risk loosing a single brain cell to alcohol. Maybe wine with dinner on very few occasions. Laborers don't build anything. They clean, carry, protect, and get coffee. I'm not attacking. I'm complaining.

I put my soul into everything I do. Which is why I get so little done and don't make any money doing it. This includes keeping my Buick nice. And even that I feel isn't good enough, but my available time and slowly deteriorating physical ability is denying me from getting it where it was and where I think it should be. And now I sit watching the rust bubble grow on my door for the last 3 years. And all I want is some fucking guy to promise me that for double the money that he wont shit all over my hard work. And not a single guy in a 100 mile radius can do it. Not one. And I live in one of the most upscale areas on planet earth. I have visited shops that NEVER painted a car worth less than $100,000. And still.....No promises. So now I'm forced to watch my car rot just like my soul.

Get out of that place. Come to Phoenix, be warm and toasty.

Bring your Buick to me, it will NEVER be treated better. NEVER. Did you forget I OWN one?:)

There are some here who know what we can do. I'm very, very picky about what we will work on outside of Penske automobiles, so when I do, it's good stuff, Maynard. I might turn someone like you down, but SOME guys like you, well you're a challenge, and I like a challenge every now and then. Don't bring me a turd and ask me to polish it into a diamond, (Yours IS NOT that car) but YOU, I don't stress guys like you.

And yes, you WILL be able to eat off of any part you could eat off of before you brought it to me. It's what I do for a living.

And there you have it.

I appreciate the offer. But I'm afraid for me it is too late. I am a New Yorker. This automatically makes me impossible to please, as well as awkward and unwelcomed in other parts.

But let's get back to Mike. It's his thread and I can't wait to see the rest of his detail and attention to good work.
