Underside cleanup

Was able to use a buddy’s lift for the day so spent a handful of hours under the car getting it cleaned up. The rust converter worked very well, especially being that it’s only $6 a can at Walmart. Just wire brushed all the loose stuff off and cleaned it with brake cleaner. Applied a few coats and it looks great. We’ll see how well it holds up. Also hand polished the Pypes exhaust as best I could. Lots of bend marks that would need to be sanded and machine buffed to look really good. Before and after shots.

Years ago when I used that product it lasted a good while but I never drove the car in the rain. It should be top coated if you want it to last in the elements. Either way, looks damn good!

I hit most areas with some undercoating after the rust treatment. Didn’t spray the diff cover wanted to keep that looking smooth.

Good job! That was worth the time for sure.

Nice job man. I did the same thing about a year ago and it was a lot of work, but definitely worth it.

Rust Bullet is awesome stuff, goes on a silver-gray color and is rated for 10 years. But for something not driven in the winter (and why would you) they have stuff called Black Shell that goes on, well, black and can be cut with iirc acetone(?)to be sprayed and is 5 year rated when exposed to salt and elements.
Is that a real GN, I don't see any oil stains on the cross over pipe?

Real Turbo T lol. Give it time it will leak eventually. Even the speedo gear is dry!
