I have to say, it was a good day.

I have been working a ridiculous amount of hours recently. I look forward to Sunday car shows and cruises because it gives me an excuse to drive the Buick. But recently, it's still hard for me to make it to these early shows. It seems my body and mind need more than 4 hours sleep at least one night a week.

So, today I said F*CK IT

The weather was absolutely perfect today. I din't go to any of the many shows being held in this area. Instead, I decided to drink a few additional cups of coffee this morning, then do a little food shopping, and then finally......just take the car out for a mid afternoon drive to nowhere.

I brought the lap-top as I always do. Did a data log. Then looked at it and saw that everything was perfect. Then I closed it up, unplugged it, and threw it on the floor in the back seat. And then.......I drove the shit out of it!

After all these years, this son of a bitch still scares the crap out of me! I mean, this bastard is stupid fast! It never stops pulling. I can't help to question, why does anyone NEED this?! 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, and it seems it's never going to run out. I never even hit WOT. Trying my best not to break the tires loose. Just some good high speed pulls and some spirited driving on a nice highway. Careful to watch out for others safety and the known hot spots for the NY State Troopers. I achieved rock-star status instantly as pedestrians and fellow motorists take pictures and videos and wave the thumbs up.

I went home, made a big pot of fresh tomato sauce with chunks of beef, pork, and sausage. Served it over pappardelle. Ate until I almost burst. Had a glass of wine. Took a nap. Woke up and went to the waterfront with my love to feed the ducks and geese stale bread. Went home, watched Rick Steves European travel show on PBS. Now I'm going back to sleep.

I have to say, it was a good day.

that sounds like a great day bob , what the hell is pappardelle ?? LOL

Add an appetizer of marinated olives, cured Italian meats and fine cheese. Serve with wine, a garden fresh salad and thick crusted bread. Finish with a slice of tiramisu and a cup of cappuccino.

we have one Italian restaurant that we love where I might be able to find most of that , I always get the carpaccio when I eat there. Enjoy your week sounds like you had a great recharge day !!

*****I've had great days like that. Congrats and it sounds like you had a great meal too!!

People that grew up in the 80's recognize the Buick GN. I was at the gym over the weekend doing my usual bench press and curls, while totally ignoring my legs so I look like Arnold up top, and Pee-Wee Herman on the bottom..

Anyway - once in the parking lot this really really good looking fit woman asks me about my car and if I wouldn't mind taking a picture of her beside it!!! Sweeet!!! I'm thinking about writing Penthouse Forums already as well as mebbe working on my legs every once in a while now.. So, I snap this picture of this woman next to my car and she says the words every Buick GN owner hates to hear (No... not it's a blown headgasket...the other words we hate to hear...) She said: "My *DAD* had a car like this when I was growing up, and I want to send him a picture of this nice *Monte Carlo SS* !!!:eek::eek:

I figured her sending her father the pic of a Buick Grand National, thinking it was something else, would be punishment enough when he told her the truth about the car she saw... :)

That was the most eventful thing I had happen on that day... Does Penthouse Forums still even exist!!!!????

I ended a thread a few years back using words close to your title.

Still remember it like it was yesterday.......... don't know why the text went to black font toward the end of the story but it's there if you look closely.......

Glad you had "one of those days" and it was a good one!
