A Pillar gauge pods

Acquired a full A-Pillar dual pod gauge piece last year and I am curious if anyone else has had any luck getting theirs installed AND looking good at the same time. Fitment and aesthetics are of A$$ caliber...and that's a compliment.

I understand the time and monetary outlay that goes into reproducing these pieces...just wish someone would charge twice as much and produce a piece worth buying in lieu of just a "piece".

Anyone know if any of our vendors sell good ones?

I had the three gauge pod on my T-Type. Mounted it right over the A-Pillar factory trim piece and tucked under the header trim over the door. It looked very nice. Here is a picture of it.

I had one, pulled it out and went to stock. Then put in a GNS 3 gauge pod off the dash to the right and hung my tach off that as well. Cleaner and less ricey.

Mixed results with these. Mine went in ok but I had my doubts when I started the install

They are bad, they install better over the existing trim. I am so glad I do not have gauges anymore.

To the OP, There are plenty of threads of how much those pillar pods suck.... not much you can do to make them look good... unless you modify it yourself.

Depends on where you get your a pillar pod and what type.
I had a 2 gauge pillar pod that had a twist to it towards the top and didn't seat right.

Thanks for the replies and feedback.

As soon as the rains subside I'll head down to the shop and take another look and maybe try it on top of the original.

Having been down this path before I agree with others opinions that sometimes, like 90% of the time, you will need to make a few adjustments/modifications (Dremel) but it is not rocket science either. Most people just want a easy (lazy) install and then get all anal over the poor fitment issue's yet expected a stock looking application.

Just saying.

This is my 3 gauge pillar pods on my 87 T-Top
At first it didn't fit well with the trim remove, but I did installed the pillar pods over the original pillar and it does fit better

That looks good and very clean as if almost factory.

So,, I know this thread is old but jmook and no one else put a link up to where they purchased the 3 gauge pod.
Can someone post a link to an A pillar 3 gauge pod that needs the least amount of fabrication to look good??

Im pretty sure they are all the same..... none of them really look "good" and like factory... I've talked to Brian and the cost to make the molds to do the "wrap- around" like OEM would cost a mint.... https://gbodyparts.com/product_info.php?products_id=811&osCsid=38aac98af8fc484b35d14725deab5210

what gauges are you planning on putting in there ??
Boost, Tach, innovate LC 2 A/F. The pod I have on there now is the gray and black with the carbon fiber look. I am going to take it off and spend some time with the heat gun to see if I can get it to wrap around better where it meets the window. The windshield side seems pretty good.

Yep... i switched over to the G and went from a 3pod to 2 Pod.

I agree with the G but no more $ right now. I also like the looks of all 3 blue gauges lit up at night when I'm just creeping thru town letting the less fortunate (ricers) admire a real car.

10/4 just curious bc if you have a scan master it has some info like tach and temp on there , If I was doing a 3 pod , id put boost, oil pressure , fuel pressure sounds like you have a good plan GL with the heat gun
