Boost Control with FAST XFI

So I in the time that I have been around this community I have run into a few cars running Fast XFI 2.0 systems some installed at shops others by the owners but one thing I keep running into is people avoiding the built in electronic boost control and all say the same thing "[Well-Known member(s)] said that it doesn't work right"
I've been running an Autometer EBC for 2 years now and I have yet to see any down side to it. Most recently I've ran into a couple of people using the XFI's EBC and they seem to not be having any issues.
So my question is why avoid using it? Was there issues with the early iterations of the ECU's or?
I am getting ready to start setting up DC%s on my buddies TR and so far it seems to work no different than the Autometer (given XFI has less features Boost by Gear or RPM) but on the bright side it does have OBP.
 
Start with open loop boost control. This will tell you the high and low limits of your boost. If you're not using CO2, I have found that going from 0-15% doesn't net much more boost. I have also found going from 85-100% doesn't either.

I have never had any type of electronic boost control other than the FAST system in my experience it seems to work perfectly fine and has never given me a reason to change.

3 port or 4 port solenoid?
 
Take it very slow on the DC% , it can be senistive but its all based on how well your gate is sized and spring size. You may want to test it in 3rd gear as this is where things tend to get loaded and the boost can creep.

Yes, it is set up and working.
We did run into a couple issues. For whatever reason using the “quickboost” feature made it wonky. We somehow were able to get less than wastegate spring pressure (16 psi spring somehow got 8) if we set the value at or above spring pressure (made no sense)
It is now all sorted and delivering a spot on 25psi everytime.

Is the best way still CO2 with AMS controller?
