What do you do for a living?

Mississippi Dept of Transportation , a State job . I'm an Engineering Technician . I inspect work done for the state by contractors . Not anything " Flashy " but I enjoy what I do , going on 23 years next month .

Could you please ask the highway engineers to "measure twice, build once" when it comes to connecting a freeway interchange, just once????? :)

Well, sitting here thinking about yesteryear. The goods things and not thinking about any bad times. I got transfer over sea’s January 1988. Only for six months but stay 19 years. Southern Germany, northern France for the company I work for. It was a playground to behold. Lived in a company compound, had my own driver. If I get told once I got told. 100 times, oh your an American yes, I have always wanted to sleep with an American !
You can only guess what happen next. I did feel kinda bad for years that I turned into a whore. But I got over it after I got back to the states for a while. Missed being a whore.

It's hard out there for a man-whore..... Glad you got your life back!

On a serious note: Please don't give up on your health, lot's of love for you here. Just know that.

Thanks Guy

Not that I'm all that good at it, but if you just need an ear, I'm around.

I'm 60 years old in July.......... I have Diabetes, diagnosed 2 years ago. Now they say I have high blood pressure, and now they talk about cholesterol and stuff..... when did THAT happen?

^^^ X2
The state of IA is doing a 4 lane highway through town with 3 state inspectors on site and somehow a block long section expanded 4in. and was too high that had to be torn up and re-done. Even plumbers know water runs down hill. Hehe
It seems someone would have checked the elevation before the pour, but then again this was also the only section where they dug up my street lighting conduit. Argh Lol

That's hilarious Ray. You got paid in beer money?

Thanks for the laugh.

Been to Germany twice. There are some beautiful women there for sure. You are very lucky to have sampled some of them.;)

So Tyler, do you have a cool job yet?

Me? I'm the city electrician for a city of around 30,000 people. I maintain and improve the electrical systems for the city owned properties such as the water supply plant, water reclamation facility, library, museum, fire dept, police dept, 11 city parks w/ 8 ball diamonds and 5 tennis courts, golf course, airport and the street lights.
If that's not enough, I'm backup for the city traffic control technician when he's on vacation or just doesn't feel like answering his phone on the weekends as well.
And just so the citizens have even more things to complain about, I run a 30,000 lb. dump truck/ snow plow making sure everyone has plenty of snow in their driveways and sidewalks to ensure an ample supply for snowball fights and building snowmen to last until spring.

Don't worry, there are a group of 6 guys that I can borrow from the street dept. for help on the larger projects when needed.

Holy cow, I need a raise. Lol

I'm actually the guy who is framing the president for working with Russia.

But shhhh...don't tell..

Currently I am a project manager, and I run our engineering team. I just started 3 weeks ago and will already be hiring another person to work under our team.

Not a bad gig, I must say.

....how did you find a post of mine that old??

I have to admit someone else brought the thread back to life (search function is working again).

I was hoping you would relpy "I have the coolest job in the world, selling Bitch'n Buick Parts"!!

But, working with the Russians is cool too. Lol

I dig my day job more than I did RPS, cause I dont have to fake being interested in stuff.

Too many self entitled whiny people.

To add my previous response...as of today I've been at this job for exactly 1 month, and today I am interviewing a few different people for a new position that I will be managing/under me..

For having just started at this place, I'd like to think I am doing a halfway decent job if they're letting me conduct the pre-liminary interviews for a new position that I will be managing in the future.

Or I am just delusional, and I can lie to myself easily....

One or the other...
