Does anyone have any pics of one? I have seen it mounted under the driver's side floor pan. I know GNX#261 has a set up like this but I haven't been able to find a pic.

One of mine is under the trunk pan.......No gas tank in the way.

The other is under the radiator support at the opening in the air dam.......... Front mount intercooler.

Not options for you I guess?

Hey Joey didn’t know you had one under the rad. Support, do you have a picture of that? Not trying to under mine this thread.

Ray my friend!

Actually, I have two coolers under the radiator support. Each is located on either side of my intercooler outlet. Both are identical Setrab units and both have fans on them. One is the primary tranny cooler, the other is the engine oil cooler. I built a full aluminum sheet metal scoop between the two air dams and set it a little further back from the front bumper to minimize damage over driveway aprons and things. Setting it back is also makes it a little more visually subtle.

There is two of these hiding in the scoop in the picture of my TR's front bumper below. Trans fluid on drivers side, oil on passenger side.

Out back, I have the big B&M cooler that you have seen in other posted photos. Also on a fan. But the one out back has fluid pumped to it from a manually switched Tilton pump when necessary or even when the car isn't running.

Here is a better view from a normal standing position.

Do not mount any trans cooler flat unless it has a fan.
Best placement is in front of the radiator so it sees airflow from driving as wel as the cooling fan.
Mounting on horizontal without a fan is useless

That's nice!

On front mount cars I like them where the IC scoop was. With and angle and set back. On SLIC it goes right behind the grill. I never recommend a stand alone cooler only. Water cools better than air.

I’m with you on leaving it through the radiator. My new setup I used -8 lines so I had to bypass it.
I am running a 16 pass cooler so its fairly large.
The new trans will probably hold 4-6 quarts more oil than my 200 did.
My 200 with this cooler and the radiator would typically stay around 185-195 with a
PTC convertor with no sprag

I give you credit Steve. Sending Transmissions on pallet to customers can be horror stories.
Not everyone knows how to install properly and everyone always follows instructions.

I used to have a smaller cooler between the intercooler and the condenser, when I went stock location intercooler and a larger trans cooler it brought the temps down 15* or so.
I run a spragless convertor and it would take quite a while to get to a steady temp. Once it hit 185-195 it stays there.
I wanted to run a diode/sprag in the new convertor but PTC couldn’t do it in their 4L80 convertor.

Cruzn57- I like that. Looking to do one by the driver’s floor pan.

Gdsims231-I have something very similar but on the passenger side. I am going to need a larger cooler that would not fit in those areas though.

Does anyone have a pic of a trans cooler mounted under the driver floorpan?
