Turbo Suggestion

Well I have a 270ish motor now with a lot of compression & a camshaft with a lot of valve action goin on & I’m gonna try & run about 23-25 degrees of timing in 1st & 2nd gear & keep a/f at 11:1-11:4 in 1st & 2nd gear & I hope it’s fast & fun . Worse case Scenario I’m not afraid of using a 50 shot of oxide to get the party going wish me well and happy spoolong. Thanks

Please post results of this combo.

Thank you.

If your unhappy with the spool of the 6870 why do you think going way bigger with a 72/75 is the way to go?i know that turbo really well and fun to drive is far from what I would call it.its not a very responsive turbo even on a v8.im not trying to be negative nor do I make any money with this post.
not responsive on a V8? Where did you get that info? That is considered small for most of the V8 stuff we do. It will light up on a decent LS like a 6262 will on a Buick. guys drive 88's on the street wil very little lag set up right

That is crazy i have a 7675 on my 4.1 with low compression ( 8.5.1) the car spools almost as fast as my 6870. There is no reason for it not to spool fast, i have a turbo 400 and a stall from PTC that Dusty recommend. I ran a hellcat on the roll we hit it together and i jumped him and pulled 4to 5 car length in no time and let off. The hellcat just finish running 130 mph at the track, i had alky and 23psi of boost which is my street tune. The hellcat is my buddies and he thought for sure he would hand me my ass however life is full of surprises.

You will be fine with the 7275

Cheers

I got that info driving/racing many cars with many different setups.im well aware of what guys drive on the street and claim to be responsive /street car we will have to disagree on an 88 on a v8 liting up as fast as a 62/62 on the right v6.how many seconds off the flat punch/footbrake for initial boost and max boost and at what rpm?most of the stuff I have seen are what I would call tracks setups that needs time to build boost and rpm off transbrakes and 2/3steps bump boxes and nitrous assists off the launch all of which doesn't work on an un prepped road.

Roll racing and footbrake racing are 2 separate things.i would consider neither turbos to be fast spooling off the flat punch or footbrake.

Before you start please go to the video section and check my car it's total street, see how quickly it spools. It spools quick on transbrake , footbrake and on the fly. The video is on the second page and says back to the track.

I have seen your video and like your car.on a motor like yours the 6870 looks good don't get me wrong.the op didn't like the way his life's up and believe it or not others feel the same way which is why I advised him to keep the 6870 and hit it with a small shot to get it moving not go bigger and add to the problem.the truth of the matter is he could hit his numbers going smaller and have more turbo response and a ton more fun for a lot less money.moving on what rpm do you see initial boost and max boost and how long off a flat punch from a start does yours take to see full boost on that combo in your vid?its very hard for guys to get a read when one person says it spools fast.

I said the 7275 will light off that fast.

I think the part that you might be missing is that the 6870 was on his old motor and his new motor is bigger with a lot more compression and different cam so its not going to be the same

That's the missing link right there.thought something might be missing.

Purchased/Ordered 7275 GEN2 CEA ball bearing .96 V band housing . I Hope it’ spools easily & is fun & responsive when driving .
Congrats on the purchase. I went with a 7275 with .81 at t4 also. Gen1 jb. My combo is a 260ci ford v6, 4r70w, trans brake, ptc converter, vp110 fuel. I'm looking for mid 20psi. I was on the ropes about the s369sxe as I've had good luck out of a box s366. After doing some research I learned the s369 had the same size exducer as the s366 and I wanted a turbo I could grow into or work on a small v8 if I end up going that route. Honestly I wish I had went 7675.

Was the 6870 used on this motor? Also, why would you want to use a three bolt with a motor like that? If compression, heads, cam, and convertor are right then "oxide" shouldn't be needed.
