The Turbo T that no one wanted

Time for a little update.

So the engine was brought to Dave Husek for what I THOUGHT would be a "quick" heads and cam upgrade. But like everything else with this car, it's like an onion (not my words, but couldn't describe it any better)

Metal shavings in the oil pick up, silicone all over the engine (including inside), some "custom" work on oil pan :-(

And just dirt!

So needless to say doing the complete engine overhaul.

Might as well go stroker, right? Why not!

Some quick shots from machine shop

That's all I have for now. As you all know, machine shops don't do anything quick. So it will be awhile. But does not mean that I can just sit around and do nothing, right?

Decide to get the undercarriage cleaned up. Did the best I could without taking the body off the chassis...

Nasty firewall before

Empty and dirty engine bay

On my way to sandblaster

And the best they could do...

Some of the undercoating just wouldn't come off.

How did the bearings look? Why the rebuild?

Body shop did the rest

Nice firewall after:

Undercarriage, rust encapsulator and few coats of Eastwood chassis black

Rear end was not painted on purpose.

Why?

Because I just can't leave things alone!

Reminds me of the line on Seinfeld where Elaine's boyfriend Puddy, is trying to sell Jerry a car:

JERRY: Alright, alright. Alright, that’s enough! Let’s get back to my deal. That undercoating, that’s just a rip-off, isn’t it, David?

PUDDY: Oh, we don’t even know what it is.

Did you cut the fuel lines?

Yes. Couldn't get the clips off when I took the gas tank down. Everything underneath was either rusty or covered with that crazy undercoating.

Probably going to upgrade to Don Cruz's fuel line kit.

Puddy: rustproofing fee, delivery fee, key fee

Jerry: key fee?!

Puddy: How ya gonna start it?

Lol

Cylinders needed to be bored out, crank cut. Obviously the whole thing needed major cleaning. Made sense go stroker route and get a "little" more out of it.

A little bit is s better than nada....... ;) some time you want the whole enchilada...

_Texas Tornado's

And by the way, you're title is in my signature........ I get it......... :D

Very small updates, getting cold out here so my work is slowing down

METCO safety loop

Replacing my heater core and cleaning everything around it

Yup! Scored copper heater core on fleabay

As soon as the weather breaks for butyl tape to stick, I can put it all back together

Looking good!!! Been following this thread since its beginning. Any updates before the holidays?

Question, what kind of camera do you use? I saw the detailed/sharp photos in your rear end sale post and was curious.

Nop, no updates. Too damn cold here to do anything. Trans is done waiting on machine shop to do their thing so we can start moving ahead on my motor.

I use my iPhone 7 for everything.
