When will E85 be Available Everywhere?

CT has two stations..... such a joke but even if it was available at the pump there are cold start issues and horrible gas mileage downsides to consider. and it aint always E85 ur gettn either. plenty of motors have melted from crap E85 at some pump gas station but it sure wud be nice to have a tune for it cause its def cheaper then C16

personally I wud only feel safe buying it in a 55 gallon drum but then ur talking $7-8 per gallon. still cheap tho

E85 is usually like 30% cheaper than 93 and uses 30% more or so fuel so it's basically a wash.

Gas mileage is the LAST thing I'm thinking about while driving around in a 30 year old , 10 sec , turbo V6 , "Grand Pa" car . :D
E85 , the best thing I did to this car .

The incentives to build flex fuel vehicles has gone way down, so the OEMs might stop building them soon. For 2016, 90% of flex fuels where trucks (pickups, minivans, SUVs, etc.)

They used to give credits for all FFVs. Now they only get credit if the FFV actually use flex fuel.

If the OEMs were smarter they'd capitalize on the E85. Subaru, Hyundai, Mitsu, all could boost turbo performance on corn if they built flex fuel cars.
My Silverado picks up about 20HP and 25ftlb on corn compared to oil. That can be felt.

I know not apples to apples by my 2013 GT with a Turbo on it gets 16 mpg with normal driving and will make over 800 rwhp on pump 93 and over a 1000 hp on E85. auto. imo there is a NIGHT and DAY difference between 11.5 mpg and 16 mpg.

and wen u have to drive 20-30 miles to jus get to where anywhere there are people with cars and bikes you have wasted half a tank of gas jus gettn there. to me that jus takes the fun out of owning a toy but if E85 was as cheap as you guys say it is then maybe its not as bad as I'm thinking.

maybe in 1970 operating a big block at 8-11 mpg is acceptable but not for me in 2017 in ANY vehicle I own. today a 600 hp car is equivalent to a stock car these days lol. there are no more youtube videos of 600 hp cars lol their all 700-900 hp cars and well over that we know. the little V6 Buick jus can't hang with that anymore which is why I made the jump.

still have my GN tho and nothn gets more thumbs up then my GN does..... Nothn!

isn't that wat the Dodge Demon has essentially?

lol fair enough..... good points. I keep saying that CT is turn the corner and get more stations with it but hasn't happened yet smh.
CT gas stations could charge a premium for ethanol fuel and have people waiting in line. Berlin tpke is a prime example. Heavily cruised. Thousands of high performance cars. I'd pay $3/gallon in a second for clear 80% or better ethanol fuel. There's a shell gas station that sells 110 octane for 9.99 gallon. There's a VP gas station (Mercury oil company) a half mile from my house that has 100 octane unleaded at every pump for like 8.99. If these two stations switched to ethanol they would sell much more. Its not like race "gas". It's even better. More btu's available if burned at the correct a/f.

No chance in NH. The idiots in our legislation banned it. :banghead:

In response the question of when & why: When you who are interested enough to contact (at a senior level) the local / largest oil companies and politicians in your area asking the question as to why???? There are many opinions along with facts to support at least 1 per city or area to provide this alternative fuel.......(as recommended by the EPA)...
Go after it.....what do you have to lose.................??????

I heard the same Less Flex Fuel cars are being built today than in the past. My buddy works for a Big Oil company in the Fuels technology group told me as well. Hopefully E85 stays around for a long time though.

How many of you have contacted your local / largest fuel suppliers to demand E-85 ..???
If they don't hear from the market demand E-85 will go the way of the last hi octane at the pump any of us remember!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Politics, market demand & profits drive this......

how many people do you think in NY called their local fuel supper to get E85? I can tell you how many.... NONE! yet they still have E85 everywhere!

out here in LI a bunch of Stations stopped selling E85. I am actually considering going back to 93 and ALKY or just going LS.

They don't need to hear from the demand. The pump tells them exactly what the demand is.

If your state has plenty then most likely no one needs to call anyone to request.....lucky you in NY !! As far as the pump telling them the demand.....? What if there is no pump to read ...hence the need to voice the desire to have E-85 available in your area. If they don't know we want a product how are they able to decide to provide it ??

they got em where ppl meet to race and thats about 40 min from me over the line but I did build my Mustang to work off of 93 pump gas cause the two places in CT are both too far away to use daily.

unfortunately the power cars are making these days the little 6 cylinder 1980's block isn't keeping up without spending an absurd amount of money and ur still limited to 6 cylinders. a 10 second car use to be out of touch for just about any daily driven car. now u can buy them right from the factory.

600 hp cars are a dime a dozen now and watch any utube car racing video and their all making 800+ now.
