Can I run the car normally without the wideband connected? I know you can disable wb tracking. What happens when I do that? How does the chip know what to do? Can it still be tuned for fueling? Thanks

I'm guessing Eric will chime in, but here is what I think happens based on this post:
http://www.turbotweak.com/forum/index.php?threads/6-0-target-a-f-question.1620/
(note: 6.0 chip in the post is nearly the same as 6.1 with the exception of you having to use the 'pedal' method to change parameters.)

-The chip will run normally around town with no/low boost. It does not use the wide band for this; it uses the normal O2 sensor.
-With wide band turned off, it will use parameter 4 for WOT fueling across the board. You can still adjust parameter 4 for the fueling.

The above is correct. You can disable wideband correction by setting param 1,2,3 to 99. Then if you want you can tune WOT fuel using parameter 4. The chip should already be made for your setup.

Thank you for the confirmation. The chip is made for my combo. I can't hook up my wb at this time.

Yes, I'm running with the 6.1 chip and no powerlogger anymore, using a stock airbox and stock MAF. Drives fine around town. I have my wideband in but its just a gauge. I won't go WOT, and I turned the boost way down.

I ran my car at the track last night. No wide band. 28# boost. No KR. Ran awesome.

I don't even have a scanmaster to turn that cell to 99 though, its whatever the default value is since I swapped ECMs too.

Why would you buy a 6.1 and have a wide band but not use the wide band tracking capability ? I know the narrow band is better at controlling fuel at light throttle but WOT the wide band is far more accurate .

It's a long story. I've had this setup for several years. Always had WB hooked up.
