I believe I stumbled across one of those rare oddities, a black '87 307 car with T package. I had the Buick factory memo that stated no black cars are to be ordered with this type of package without being a Turbo car...to avoid consumer confusion. I can't find the memo I had. Anyone out there know what I am talking about and how many cars could have got built? Mine is a Black car 54k miles, gray t type interior, aluminum wheels, black out option. All verified on the rpo sticker. original paint. My plan was to do a LS swap but I think the car could be really rare.

Rare doesn't me desirable. That's a perfect candidate for an engine swap, LS, SBC, or Olds.

Here is a crazy idea put a hot Buick V6 in it.
Well, in a thread a few days ago, swapping an LS in a TB was the only viable solution to a hurt turbo V6. I was told the V6 is a boat anchor.

Well someone lied to you and my guess is it was just another one of those parakeets who keep telling the same story over and over that they heard from someone else.

I would leave it bone stock, i think its the rarest regal in the low 400s built.

The car is stock with a 307 olds and 3.08 rear gear but it's really cool black with gray interior, console, aluminum wheels, chrome bumpers, black out package. Only 54k miles...tough call on this one. Even the stock radio is still in place.

can a 307 be built to hand a little boost say a total of 350-400 hp at the motor?
that would keep it oe and fun.

i am getting my dads 68 chevelle all oe 307 chevy and that is my plan.

I had a 307 regal a few years back and did a little research on upgrades etc., they can be modded to make decent power. They have there own little niche.

The Regal has an Olds 307, the Chevelle has a sbc 307. The Olds downfall are the heads. Older better flowing heads don't fit it. The last renditions had roller cams though. Mondello makes some performance parts but you're so far behind on the hp front it's just easier to go another route. I believe the sbc 307 is a destroked 327 and the ratio isn't good for power.

Here's a few pictures. Before anybody gets excited about the rear spoiler and front air dams. The owner passed all receipts on to me. Dealership invoice dated 6-5-87, shows they purchased and had them dealer installed. Every rpo code checks out.

Remember back in the day when the 400 sbc was the hot ticket!
That's what I would put in it!!!,with a nasty set of 15 degree heads and a solid roller that would spin to the moon!!

The Turbo T's weakling sibling.
I think your missing the point. This car was never to have been built. Regardless of your negative comments or down playing the car, I think it is a highly desirable car. For the other readers I am still contemplating what to do, for more power! A 3.73 from a 442 sure would make it feel like more. I have no intentions of racing but still like to get up to speed in a reasonable amount of time. Shift kit 1 to 2 chirp is required.

Oh, I understand that it's rare but back to my original statement, it's just another small v8 powered g body. No sense having a g body platform with a wimpy engine. Head to head my bone stock nissan altima on 87 octane is faster. Well, this is from the mondello website. Have at it.
