2017 TSO Rules Discussion

I have received everyone's vote except Don & Martin (they're probably busy discussing transmissions). Anyway, everyone but Manny voted for me to be the final decision in rules.

Based upon your proposals, here are my thoughts. These are NOT FINAL and I would encourage discussion before I make them permanent.

1. Limit the class to a 16 car field. It has always been my hope to have a bump spot for the slower cars to fight to get in and get the guaranteed payout. This has never occurred. We've been close the last several years.

2. The minimum qualifying time is 6.30 We had a 9.90 bump when we were 1/4 mile. This eliminates some "fillers" jumping in for the guaranteed payout.

3. No wheelie bars. We instituted a penalty a few years ago. Since we don't have anyone running them, now's the time to eliminate them.

4. Fuel. This is where I need some persuading. I am still not convinced we need a penalty. I think nearly every BG and tb.com TSO winner has run gasoline. Do other sanctioning bodies penalize E based fuel? I am definitely against M-1. Allowing that opens up all kinds of things (no radiator, no intercooler, spool up/boost advantage, etc..)

What is the final ruling on this? Any changes this year beside Cal being the final rule decision maker.
