Hot air 3" down pipe improvement

I didn't have a 45 in the shiny stuff lol have to buff it up I guess. I found the best way to make the waste gate hump was by figuring out how big of a cavity is required and mark it out. Then split the area with a plasma cutter and peel it up. Then us a piece of scrap pipe and cut it into a triangular piece and beat the piss out of until it fits over the hump. It's tough covering the opening and ensuring you have enough room for your bolts. I think I might stud the hole furthest forward on the turbo.

Well it's welded. Gonna take the flapper wheel to it. Apparently the welders in Alberta are still charging oil patch rates......500 bucks to weld it ouch. Should have got a quote figured it would have been a couple hundred. O well. Should I wrap it?

Took me by surprise. It's a really small town and I think they spent the 5.5 hours on it but I don't think they needed to but I'll just look at buying a used tug welder now. Lesson learned. I'm still slightly cheaper then the gbody pipe by the time I pay exchange, dutie and shipping.

I would say no, don't wrap it, if u do condensation will form on the inside of the pipe and it will eventually corrode, better off having it done with JETHOT coating.Well it's welded. Blacknight, is that a no AC car? I wish I had that much room!!!! I just got done with my 3" DP and I had so little room, I had to take off the front wheel to put the V band clamp on! Also, too bad you're so far away, I'd have welded that up for you for a six pack of beer, lol.

I pulled the a.c and replaced it with a heat only box. It came with electronic touch climate that didn't work right and i wanted to tidy up the engine bay so out it came.

What's funny . . If you remove all accessories, there is enough room to hide a dead hooker in the engine bay. Start adding the "crap" and it's tighter than speedo swim wear. Wouldn't own one without AC though.
So true. One of these days I'll gain some of that space back when I go to electric fans up front. Won't really help with what I'm doing now though, unfortunately.

So true. I'm up in Canada so we only get above 100 a handful of times in the summer so it's not bad. Open the astro roof and roll the Windows and she's nice. I don't think I would want to sit in traffic though lol.

I had one and a half U bends left over from a previous project and I used all of it to make my 3" DP. If I had a full two, I probably would have used just about all of it. I cheated a little to make what I had work.
