The fisherman becomes the fish

These stories turn any bad day around. As another member stated early on, ..... these stories get me giddy. I'm sitting here at work with a dirty grin as if i'm on my fav porn site...... in a way, i guess i am.

My story doesn't deserve it's own thread; afterall, got beat. ;)

My car isn't anything fast, mostly stockish as you can see, so i don't go fishing as i know my current place in the fish tank. I will however race anything at anytime just for the thrill of it.

About 3 months ago i'm on the back side of town...... pretty quiet out there, two lanes each way, no traffic. As i approach a stoplight that leads two lanes into one, I check the rearview to see 2 matching in color maroon, late model Challengers. One has a flat black stripe across the tail, (that was the only difference between the two) he pulls up next to me.
Hoping for some fun, i swap feet with the brake and get ready to load the tranny for the green........... as i do this i look right for any sign from the driver..... as i do that, light goes green and i see him leave. No, more like launch. I wasn't totally asleep at the wheel, but sure wasn't ready by any means. He goes,.........I go. He's got me by 1/2 and building as we cross the intersection. My old ass, dry tires shortly there after let go just as i've got to start back pedaling keeping the knock away...... He wins to the single lane and its all over in about 6 seconds. I had a blast, and laughed out loud as we returned to normal driving.....
I couldn't see him due to his cool-guy black tint, but i had a big cheesy grin and gave him a wave when we parted directions a couple intersections later.
:)

Tori, The bump - leaving first is more important than you think. Sounds like you need some fresh rubber, practice leaving and just keep having fun. Love to read anything like this. I know I need some drag radials to be a little more competitive. Back peddaling is tough so tires that stick really help.

Oh i know, like i said i was caught off guard by the light. But it's okay, my feelings weren't hurt by being beaten, my ego isn't so big i can't enjoy a whoopin' ;)

I don't go fishing either, especially in my cars state. But sometimes fate just happens and it's tough not to play. I kinda like the crappy tires that are on it, they go up in smoke so effortlessly, and being that they are crap, i don't mind bringing them to an early death. Once the new injectors are in (new fuel pump went in last week) and i get things more dialed in i'll probably shop for some real tires.

I do think it's funny someone marked my post with a "disagree" LOL what does that even mean. Some of these guys.... LMAO

Nice kill. What part of the beach, down towards pier park area maybe?

It appears as if those rating buttons are often easily tapped by accident many times when using a smart phone to view a post. Sometimes it's easy to tell when it was unintentional.

Don't sweat it.

On the way home here awhile back, a day I had driven the GN to the office I was cruising home minding my own business there was a brand new shiny black Stang 5.0 with paper tags that had came off the hwy and turned the other direction as I passed him I looked back and he is flipping a U turn so I figure maybe he wants to play?

I caught the next red light so that allowed him to catch up a little, he is still a couple of cars back at the light in the other lane but I can hear him revving his car, I was laughing my ass off. The light goes green and I take off I get up to about 30mph in a 40mph zone and here he comes whipping it around a couple of cars so yeah he is fishing and I am the fish but little did he know I wasn't just a fish I was a whale! lol

He gets up beside me on my right slows to my speed and throws another rev so I downshift and he hits it, about a half car on me but only for a moment and the moments gone! :) I put 4-5 cars on him pretty quick and let off down to the next light and he makes another u turn right before the light. I guess he had had enough. Maybe he was going back to the dealer? lol

I love playing with the mustangs. Nice kill.

I agree, Stangs are fun to play with. I really like the ones ridden by smart allec young fellas.

Nothing runs like our TR's.

The fact is, there are some pretty cagey old guys out there driving around some very harmless looking Moostangs......

Some of them with WAY more than enough to clean a TR's clock......... Be careful out there........:D

If you need to ask my why I say this, well, it will soon be too late for you.

However, I do hear they've changed the tail lights on the newer models as of late........

I wouldn't know,.......... I've never seen a set of them....... :D.

I love Mudstain huntin as much as the next guy but you do have to be careful and I'm north of 500hp. Case in point my son's GT500 is 760rwhp on E85. He went 136mph in the 1/4.

I do think I can beat him in the 1/8 mile, you ask how? I'm 600lbs lighter w/driver, I'm a auto he is a 6 speed. From a dig in the 1/8 I should be able to beat him. His ET's in the 1/4 on 136mph were in the mid to high 10's. That ET I can run so in the 1/8 I think I can beat him but he would be coming for me on the big end. lol If he could launch or was a auto he would be in the 9's.

So? Catch-up.
All this means is that you have to do a little something more to your Buick he doesn't know about.:sneaky:
A man's son is never too old to get a good ass whipping from his dad.;)

Easier said than done. lol I could do a few more small things but the 3.8 is not going to survive much past 600 crank hp which is about where I'm at now. I'm happy with what I have...

A blown 3.8 V6 vs Blown 5.4 V8 I'm not suppose to win anyway. :) In the 1/8 mile I think I can hand him his ass.

What is your son's 1/8 mile et/mph? What is your 1/8 mile?

You could always paint an aluminum TA block block. You think he'd notice?:sneaky:

He did 108 in the 1/8 So I would really have to tree the hell out of him. I haven't ran since the new set up but least 100mph maybe 101. He puts 11mph on me in the 1/4.
