I apologize if this is the wrong forum, but I'm looking for a ballpark value of a low mileage 79 century turbo car. A guy up the road has one for sale and he said make offer... I have an 87 GN but I am not too familiar with a 79. Any additional insight is appreciated.. Thanks

Extremely rare. Most say ugly. To the right person - running, driving, very good shape, I would say 3-4K. I would sell my non running, needs lots of work, but complete CTC for at least 1500.

Is that the brown one on Facebook in upstate NY ?? That one looks a little rough for 24,000 mi.

I've got turbine wheels, in case you decide to buy it ;)

Excellent! Good to know. I'm interested in the car, but it needs lots of work for the asking price. I mentioned that you could probably buy the best one in the world for like $4,000.

From the article above...

While 175 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque may be modest by today’s standards, the car’s relatively light curb weight of 3,051 pounds helped boost performance, too. By comparison, a base 1979 Chevrolet Corvette with the L48 V-8 engine produced 195 horsepower and 285 pound-feet of torque, which had to propel a mass of 3,480 pounds. That’s not to say the turbocharged Buick was a match for the Corvette at the drag strip, but the Century Turbo Coupe probably put up more of a fight than many drivers of “faster” cars expected.

Perfect car to drop in a 86/87 set up. it would make a nice sleeper.

BTW.....with center caps?
I have quite a few NOS center caps. Actually, it's the trim rings that are impossible to find. They're less than an inch wide, and I've never seen anything like it aftermarket.

Not sure. I don't have facebook. This one is in geneseo ny. Upstate. I can go check it out if anybody is interested.

Yup, that's the one. I am interested in it. Like I said, I spoke to the owner Friday and he said he'd send me more pics. But he needs to get realistic about the price.

I have some of the polycast turbine wells as well that I wouldn't mind getting rid of. Not sure of the condition or how many. I know they are heavy and wide (7"?). I just picked them up here and there at swap meets over the years.

I think they used the same wheel on the '81 Regal Indy Pace Car.

The correct size is 14 x 7 if I'm not mistaken.

I also believe the '80 had a different wheel design. Can someone confirm?

These looks like the '80 wheels.

It seems the '80 had 14 X 6 wheels versus the 14 x 7 on the '79.
