Before Black BS'ing thread.

Cool, depending on the price I might pick it up. It spun some bearings it sounds like but it would be a good core.

Other option is to grab a 4.1. Theres one not too far away from me.

That is a 20 bolt timing cover if it has 3 holes. The GM replacement 14 bolt covers have the point, but only 2 holes for the pan bolts. I bought a couple of GM 14 bolt covers years ago that had the point and only 2 holes. I assume the cover could be drilled and tapped for the third bolt.

I'm moving to my new place a state away for my new job. Hauling the last load down tomorrow.

What a line of junk! Hehe

I bought an Eastwood TIG 200 AC/DC welder. The intent is to be able to weld aluminum, and especially anodized aluminum for marine use. Not so easy to learn, but I'm getting there. I have stainless pipe down pretty good. It's like gas welding exhaust pipe or header tubes, but harder because you have to have the right angle on the torch and grind the tungsten occasionally, plus work the foot pedal properly. The aluminum is easy if everything is clean, but the anodized pipe is difficult. Thank goodness for You Tube for guidance. TIG welding eats Argon fast. I had a 20 CF cylinder that lasted only a few welds. I found USA welding on line. They have reconditioned and hydrostatically tested 55 CF cylinders with new valves for $100.00 shipped. I have a gas company that will fill them, but they have to be vacuumed or blown down with Argon before filling. Air messes up the mix, which is what happened. They blew it down and refilled it for free. I got another cylinder this week, but I used my A/C vacuum pump to get the air and moisture out before getting it filled. TIG welding is a lot harder than I thought, but I have the time to learn. Not a bad machine for $700.00 shipped. It's not as good as a Miller, but it's two thirds less money.

I got a surprise when my NA Buick V6 powered truck popped up in an ad for the Speedway. I won that race against the Mustang GT by a good bit.

Yep moving on with the BS as this thread suggested. What a letdown for 2016 and my Buick, things were going so good too.
Lonnie will get my trans for the third time this year. Got a new Alky pump in the spring then it went bad randomly now it is replaced again. I've only driven it to the track once this year only to have it break. Little time left.... I'm not quite done with the Buick yet, just need the trans shifting correctly now.

Adam,
The pumps are usually good for about four-ish years before you need to send them back for a rebuild.
I figure that it's a small price to pay to add a bunch of HP for not much dough.

On a side note: There was a hot air dude asking about NOS on T6P.
Can you help him out and lead him here?

Here's where I found him wondering lost in the desert with no water. See post #12 before he drives over his crankshaft.

Thanks for heads up I'll help him out. I'm couple days behind but I'll get on it.
I don't mind swapping the Ally pump out, the new one was 6 months old and failed.

That ain't wright.
Razor sells a alky pump leak checker. It's not a bad tool have. I've got one. From all the pumps I've seen leak, they only leak when they're pumping.

Julio took care of the pump that's all good now!
But about the Before Black stuff:
Local to me for sale is a '78 Regal sport coupe, pretty nice red vinyl interior, silver exterior with 1/4 vinyl top. The current owner put 3k in the engine and never finished or fired it up, needs: distributor, spark plugs/wires and a water pump to run. It's. 030 over bore with forged pistons, o ringed block deck, copper head gaskets, Erson 208/208 flat tappet cam, stock iron heads with a valve job and bowls cleaned up, stock runners. A friend and I are going to pick this up and save it, either flip it with a v8 swap or finish building it and hang onto it. Time will tell which happens but I'll get some pics of it when we go get it.
