Winter is here whats everybody's project they got cooking??

My budget suspension rebuild is almost done, should finish it tomorrow afternoon.

I tore the lower ball joint boot a little while pressing it in today... Any way to repair it? It's a small tear but it goes through the rubber.

well had a choice to make today
to run the MT pros on a 15 x 10 5bs weld aluma star i had a 1" spacer but it was close to frame and tight at the rear frame rail really would have been happier with just a little more clearance ... so either mill a set of 1.5 hub and wheel centric spacers down or order a new set of 1.25 spacers .. which would push the wheel out further
so i did this instead ..
also had to take a little off the bottom of the ridetech bracket but it good and now i have no spacers and almost 3/8"clearance all around the tire from frame wheelhouse and the shock bracket
its 3/16 plate and i set it into the frame against the factory stops for the front side frame rail

Well finally got my Steering column wobble fixed. Thanks for the pointers Paulie!! Three of the four bolts were loose. Took them all out and loctite back in. The hardest part was getting the ignition cam to line back into the slot after that the rest went back together pretty easily. New GM ignition switch installed since the one that was in the car was black. Not a hard job to do but you need to have the right tools!!

^^^ Nice work & good looking welds, too (y) under less than ideal conditions (not exactly workin' on a nice bench, is it?)

... but is that 3/16" thk plate helping with the car's diet? o_O:confused:

not enough for me to be concerened
i weighed all the scrap that came off (not the dirt and dust just the steel) and the 1" spacers ..16.0lbs
the new plates both sides ... 18.0lbs not counting the welds

now all the dirt and metal dust that i swept up after ..thats a couple pounds easy
