I am fortunate enough to have one the local GN owners recommend me to his brother who is from Florida. He bought this bueatiful 47k GN from Ga. I got my hands in it Saturday and the fun comences.

In the plans are: Tranny overhual, adding a posi unit and replacing all bearing/seals in rear, adding missing and GNX body bushings, shocks, fuel pump/hotwire upgrade, brake updates, full chassis/engine bay detail with lots of powdercoating, injectors/chip/translator, guages and engine reseal as well as timing chain/valve springs.

Started to teardown today. Here are some pics.

Looks like we are going through this one. Thrust bearing is done. Cyl walls have some scoring. May need to be bored. Stay tuned.

Nothing that doesn't need a lot of work or isn't part of an assembly already. I've seen some in parts for sale recently though and there was one on ebay recently

Tranny toredown. No surprises. Stator support splines almost stripped. Clutches so evidence on heat. Direct drum looks nice as well as the pump. No hard parts needed.

47K, or 247K?? That poor car looks as tho it's been thru Desert Storm.
Hope the owner stole it............

I have not seen the title but 47k is on the odo. In the pics the car is fogged up due to the humidity and cold concrete floor. Chassis is full of Georgia red clay.

Interesting to see if the engine vin, the chassis, and the trunk all match..
This poor thing has had the:poop: beat out of it, by one, [or more] of our rednek mud boggers!!

wanted to say what a rare and great find Steve V. is. Had my car shipped to him. I live in Florida but through a great tip from Harry Savage in Virginia I felt steve is the only one for my 87 GN restoral. Boy were we correct.

Steve takes the time to LISTEN to me and then gives me the answer he knows is best for my stated wants on the car. He is rebuilding the engine, tranny, suspension etc. I tend to get too excited and Steve allows it and then speaks to me.

Cant wait to see the final result as we all will as Steve V. continues to post the progressive pics.

Any one out here wanting work done I can promise you shipping / getting the car to Steve is well worth it. His garage is awesome. Located out in the country, So quiet. His home is welcoming. Try Steve V. you wont regret it.

pictures cant show the awesome condition the paint, body lines and interior are. they are mint. Yes the engine needed work and the underside as well. That's where Steve works his magic. No it was not a steal but worth what was paid for it and what I am investing in it. I feel the need for speed :)

It was time to get a little mud on the tires as the song says. Those days are over and Steve will have the engine, suspension and tranny looking mint to match the interior and paint.
