CPT 60 BALL BEARING VS. 6262 JOURNAL....BISON?

I have an opportunity to trade

Cpt is bb 6665 I believe with 4 inch inlet...f1 wheel .63 turbine housing

Mine is journal 6262 3 inch inlet .63 turbine housing

Was your 6665 a p trim or f1 exhaust wheel...thank you so much for responding
 
What ive noticed is the cast 66 wheel that t-netics uses isnt very efficient and wont support as much power as the 62 wheels do in the small housings. The 66 t-netics in the big 8 bolt t series cover is decent. Most are not the large cover though. With the 6265 that i use it will out spool any turbonetics 66 compressor equipped turbo regardless of the ex housing used on either. Chances are the bigger gains will be in the converter and tune.
 
It is a 4 inch inlet 2.5 outlet compressor cover...I'm mainly looking at the increase in exhaust flow combined with ball bearing center section... just found out it is a hurricane series and potentially a p trim ex wheel....would this be a deal breaker ?

All else being equal would you use the 6262 non cea?

The inlet and outlet size don't matter. The diffuser is what matters. The high flow 62 and 65f1 flow almost the same. Within 1-2lbs/min. A p trim will flow slightly more or less depending on which one it is. Increasing ex flow could hurt performance if the compressor isn't matched to the compressor cover. It takes a certain amount of exhaust pressure to move a certain amount of air at a certain pressure. If the diffuser is too small the exhaust pressure increases tremendously.

Looking at your Sig...
With 20 psi and pump gas, I doubt you see a difference in the two.
 
Well the future goal is around 30# from either... on race gas the 62 has seen 25 already... runs great but I'm in process on some more fueling for the future goals... from my research bison has made 601 to the tire on a similar combo as mine at 26# with a 6665. Would love have numbers close to that so hence the question
 
Don't be fooled by "similar combo". Attention to detail of the build and assembly, including the tune is worth a lot of hp. Just saying . . . . Lol

Very true. The blue car dynoed under 600whp peak but runs 9's@ 135+ and is very easy and fun to drive. Automatic shifting. The opponent has very little chance of winning unless they have way more car and power

Well I went ahead and traded because from my research the 6265/6266 are the only ones comparable to the p-trim or f1 wheels on the exhaust and the 66 mm is at least capable of matching peak flow numbers from the 62....combined with the ball bearing center cartridge and "garret like" .63 housing spool should be the same or possibly better (fingers crossed but not holding my breath)plus Im benefitting from being able to run external wastegate off the hosuing to atmosphere for even more back pressure drop
 
I would have maxed out what you already have...including the 6262..:) If you're using race gas...then you'll need 80 lb injectors and a 340 lph pump at anything faster than 6.72 in the 1/8th. Ask me how I know.:)
 
Keep us posted when you finish, id like to hear about the comparison in the two..
