I seen this car in person and talked to the owner.... stand up guy. Its plainly obvious this car has never had a wrench on it..... and just to point out... when he said rusty...... he meant it...

It was great meeting you! It worked out perfect to be able to have the car go in the 10's in front of literally hundreds of board members. It was great to have some point out things like the rust being on the intake bolt heads as well as the plenum bolts that you could obviously tell a socket hasn't touched them in 25+ years!:D

Here is the video of my 16 yr old nephew going 10.94@121.54 this eve. What a great way to cap off the bullet project for this year! Thanks everyone for following us on this build! As I stated earlier I will post the entire build break down soon.

Bad ass:cool: I love it! So what's the total parts list and cost of parts on this? I think it's more interesting when people do more with less than seeing an all out build run.

This will be a hard act to follow and no one should let their wife see this thread because she will say "See I told you that you didn't need all of those parts! ":(

I can't believe how a basically stock TR can pull the front tires off on a foot brake launch. Man it suck our racing season is over here in MN. Can't wait until next summer. DAMN this is so impressive. Best thread for us rookie TR owners that want to go fast!

AND, obviously this is more than just a parts build, you know how to tune these beasts!

Way to go both Brian and your nephew!! Wish I could have been there in B.G. to hang out and watch!

What Rpm are you shifting at? And going thru the traps?

The 1-2 shifts are being made at 5200 via the governor, the 2-3 is being made at 5400 and its going through the traps at I would guess 5500. There is no aftermarket tach in the car and the check engine light is set in the chip to come on at 5400 and its clearly on at the end. The converter not coupling on the top end is really hurting it as we talked about earlier in the thread.

I am going to make the list out when I get back from BG and do some winding down. We have been busting it for 8+ straight weeks on this program and I need some r&r:D

Some of those launches were off the trans brake these past couple days.. but the car pulls the wheels with the foot brake as well. I agree it should help you alot of the newer guys in making smarter decisions on where they spend there money on these cars. I hope we proved here what you NEED and what you DON'T NEED to build and have a 10 sec car. Yes this isnt my first rodeo tuning these cars and it does make a significant difference;)

Thanks alot Keith! The kid was so happy and I was as well to see him get that 10 sec time slip! Wish you could have been there as well! Had a blast these last couple days! We were really disapointed with last nights program getting shut down at 6 o'clock though.. we were hoping to get more passes and go 10.80s but for some reason they shut it down and said no more! There was ALOT of pissed off people! Friday nights used to be the best e/ts of the week for everybody!

Brian.
I just wanted to say, that is was nice meeting you and seeing your car in person at Bowling Green. I just wish I could have been there to see your record pass. I was with Dave Fiscus when we came over to talk about the car. He had told me about your car and said we had to go check it out while riding around. We were both very impressed with what you've done with the car. It brought back fond memories of what we used to do with our own cars back in the day. A HUGE CONGRATS on the 10 second pass! It is a tremendous accomplishment, especially for that car being given a second chance at life. It truly shows the world just how awesome these cars really are. It honestly reminds me of the Disney cartoon, about the little car that was given a second chance at life.

Here are a few pics I took.

Keep up the excellent work and again, it was nice to meet you and your car.

I also had the chance to meet Brian and check out the "Rusty Silver Bullet". Very cool! And the interior is clean!
