I'm knocking on 11s, 12.09

i want to work slowly up to 30# but the TT Alky chip is only burned for 23-25, i know its no big deal with adjustment through the chip. I had a local guy tune it for me after he installed the alky. he said it could push more boost after 25 but didnt have his right equipment and didnt want to be responsible for anything if it went wrong but he did said it would push 30psi. Im glad to hear the 44 can handle that much boost, im happy with it. I think my next engine mod will be a Cam kit. So whats the secrets to hold boost?

Ive been looking at the rear brake kit that has the longer shoes and better wheel cylinder from gbodyparts, ive read good things about it on here, so i might invest in that and a line lock.

The line lock will save your rear brakes and allow them to work; it also enables massive street burnouts at will. As far as the right equipment, you just need a wideband to know that the AFR is right. I'm not sure what your guy is referring to as the right equipment to turn it up but you have what you need if you have a scanmaster; the wideband just enables fine tuning adjustments. And don't get caught up in a boost number. It's all about mass flow. A stage II engine at 17psi with a 4788 turbo has a LOT higher cylinder pressure than my engine at 30psi out of a TE44 and thus needs beefier parts. My TE44 on that stage II engine wouldn't even make 20psi I bet b/c it'd be out of mass flow at that psi on that engine but will make 30psi on mine and still not make as much power even at 10psi more boost. Make sense? KR or running lean will ruin a motor at any boost level; it's just a number so don't be afraid of it. Again, the turbine will hold back your mass flow before you ever run out of compressor so essentially a TE44 can "handle" any boost level that you can get it cranked up to on any engine.

I like your style though; slow and steady increases in performance help keep things from breaking, but no guarantees.

Ive been to the track a few times and this is the best time i've ran with the current mods in my sig. Minus the Alky which i didnt have at the time.

This was at 21#. 5gals of 100 and 10gal of 93. No knock at all. Around 5# of boost off the line. I need to build more boost but my brakes are holding me back, they are next on my list. The kit from Gbodyparts for the rear. Hopefully i can run into the 12s with the alky and boost at 25#. Sorry no logs (no powerlogger :( but soon) but my scanmaster was reading high 700 low 800 O2s for each run in 3rd. I did hit 13.1 at 107 the next run. I cant wait to get back and run with the ALKY!!!!

My goal is to have a high 11 and low 12s car, on a budget. Looking for ideas for my next mods to get me there. Any help and suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Some good videos of the launch will help. [From directly in the rear, and from the side.]

A wideband along with a powerlogger is for next summers to buy list. i started cranking it up to 26-27# and she seems to be running fine with no knock. i saw .7 one time and got out of it but ever since then its been running fine. I cant wait to see what this thing does at the track. Just gotta practice some good starts on the street out of the hole i guess.

Awesome! Sounds like you're having fun ans that's what counts. That car is damn fast already and fittin' to get faster!

I'm surprised nobody has said anything about the headers. I had a set on my car for about a week. Never ran them at the track but everyone said they would kill my 60' time. They were a huge pain in the ass to install but the car sounded great.

I bought the car with everything in the sig minus the alky tires and spring/shocks. I did my research before posting on th site and soon found out the headers suck but it is what it is. I should invest in some stockers

I'm watching this thread, I'd really like to see how low you can get that 60. Are you going to keep at it?

Yeah I can't make it to the track this fridy for test and tune becuase of work, but I plan to go the following Friday. I've been doing some street starts but it starts to crawl after 5# if i throttle it hard and if I bring up the boost up slow it starts to do a burn out. I don't think I'm building enough pressure in th vac system to hold the brakes. I'm stomping on the brakes and holding it hard and they work great for driving and stopping just can't seem to find the right touch for building boost.

Been watching your thread too, great job!

Currently sitting in line to race, figured I would update you all. Takin all suggestions given into the runs. 20psi in the tires. Dropping into neutral to build vacuum boost up while pumping the brakes twice before staging. 26# of boost spraying alky.

60' lost a little but you picked up 6mph in the eighth and carried that through the quarter. You aren't picking up much if any in the second half of the run.
Congrats on laying down the 12 but I know there is more in it. 111 mph should get you to the low 12s when you are able to get your 60' where it needs to be. Something is wrong that it doesn't pick up in the second half of the run. One thing at a time.

Either it is spinning or something is wrong. Can you get a side vid with a shoe polish stripe to see if it is spinning when you launch it. Or maybe your track just doesn't prep well. You should be in the 1.7 range for the 60'

Great job making progress!

Dan, nice job. 111mph is good. 2.0 60ft., not so good!! See if I can make it down next time, give you a hand. You'll get there. Phil.

No vids yet still. No there to record the runs. I don't think I'm spinning I would probably hear it and or feel it. It's definitely hooking. I believed i need better brakes in the rear.

Phil only a few more Fridays to go! Maybe ill let you sit in for me for a couple runs!

The last two runs I ran 13.0 at 110. Was kinda disappointed either the times so I figured I'd save it for another day.

I've seen 110 trap speeds on deeeeeeep 12's man. That's with a real low 60 tho. Get that thing off the line quicker!
