I have a true story to tell. How I lost my GN @ Gbodyparts

If you'd refilled those extinguishers you'd know just how many I deployed. Here is just a little of my training certs....not that that's the issue here but I want everyone to know that I can verify everything I've said.
Would of been nice to see those in use. I have all receipts on all of mine & the paid receipts to prove it since 2we have been here. That is how you get an occupancy.

Trying to read thru the miles of BS. Clay you scheduled air line tickets? No. Jennie did that for you then I was up front & you were in back. Looked for you & couldn't find you. I am trying decidse if I want to disect every line of BS or just write a mile long post.
Would you like me to post copy of the credit card statement showing who scheduled it? She did look it up while I was helping you but the decision was made to stop and I left to make the purchase. That's when you decided to make another weld without me there to fire watch. When I returned to help you pick up that's when I found my car burning.

You can tell from a CC statement who scheduled a flight? My ass & a prime example of your BS. But at least you admit you were up there. Then when you went back I wasn't there. Fire watching? Is that what you called that? When you were wiring your car were you fire watching or fire planning? If I saw my car burning I would of grabbed an extinguisher . That is Just me. I'm done for the night so have at it. This is why I didn't get on here today so I wouldn't be wrapped up in BS. I will be back tomorrow.

Charlie it is up to you. If you let that POS post I will chew him up & spit him out. Either here or another section. I wasn't the one with $ problems who embezzled him. He was a POS, he is a POS, & will always be a POS. Just so we are clear. You may want to speak with Shane.

Don't attack me Brian, and I understand you're upset. This is why I said every one else needs to stay out of it. I'm not on anyone's side here and I don't get paid to do it. I'm just trying to help you get this resolved to some degree for the best results.

Ok I just finished reading all your different responses.
I don't have a sister. No one sent you anything claiming to be my sister. What I did request was your insurance information. You refused to provide it. I didn't see the need to have a second opinion or evaluation of the incident because the original one works for me. The work I did to my car was what you instructed me to do. You said numerous times that you'd had fixed roofs in worse shape than mine. You had me snipping metal from parts cars to weld in place of rusty metal you grinded out of my car. At no point did you encounter anything and say that it couldn't be fixed. You reassured me that you had it in hand. If the job was to much for you then you should not have taken it. In our early emails I was asking if you had a rolling chassis that I could transfer everything over too. You told me that you could save my car and that it wouldn't be necessary to swap over. I have the emails. Other than helping you the only other thing I did to my car was put my bumper reinforcements in. The only reason I did that was because one of your employees had taken them and started installing them in bumpers you had in your inventory. I'm not claiming he tried to steal them, he didn't know they weren't yours. It was easier to just install them than to try to store them in the car somewhere/somehow or have that keep happening with your different employees. Yes my car had a nice stereo but I didn't install it in your shop. I did not work on wiring or anything other than what I've stated here. Bumper reinforcements and everything else you instructed me to do.

87' GNX Clone : Car Burned at Vendor's Shop...waiting on vendor to do the right thing and replace it.

There has been quite a bit of "Insurance" and "Agreed Value" talk about this car here, do you mind if I ask:

"What did this car start out as"?

Since the owner decided minimal insurance coverage would suffice while on the road, and if a true story is to be told, I guess the next question would be:

"Aren't these two factors key in determining the real worth of the car"?

Brian, One thing more that I feel needs to be said. You accused me of fire planning. Really? Typically when someone is going to plan to do something illegal it is to aquire something they couldn't get otherwise, right? What was I trying to get? I've never tried to get you to give me more than what you costed me. I even told you that if you replaced my car with a rust free t-top car that I'd pay you the money you were to make by making mine rust free. I'm not trying to get over on you. I'm just trying to get back what you costed me and nothing more. Why wouldn't /won't you provide your insurance info?

Walk away Guy, you really don't want to get in this one.;)

This is an unfortunate event that took place at a vendor's shop.

Nonetheless it seems both parties seem to have a silent agreement that there was mistakes made by both
Not disconnecting the battery during welding, Clay doing his wiring, but Brian should of stood up and said I cannot weld with the battery connected.

From a previous shop employee and how insurance should be used by the shop, no matter what or who's fault it is you MUST ALWAYS file a claim! If you don't you lose your protection from further lawsuits!

Clay, if you say is true, why didn't you file a claim and find out if you were covered? The worst thing would happen is that you can leverage your insurance to settle with Brian's. Clay, that was really stupid to not file a claim. You are going to need to file a claim and speak with a lawyer

Brian, why didn't you file a claim? Worst thing would of happened would of been your insurance company would of protected you from his insurance claim. Now you can be sued for the loss plus other damages. That ws stupid to not file a claim. I hope you have a good lawyer as this one is going to be painful!

Now, this becomes a legal issue which would be brought up in court, and unfortunately lawyers become involved as it is larger than a small claims and could end up worse for one or both of you. To add insult to injury, Brian's name is being dragged through the mud right, wrong or indifferent and Clay you are dragging your reputation through the mud.

Unfortuantely, this is going to end bad no matter what.

I am not going to pass any judgement, as accidents do happen, it is the outcome on how the persons' handling it that impresses me.

So far, I am not impressed by either of you.

FYI, I would of filed a claim and sued the chit out of Brian... but that is me and IF the story is TRUE.

Until then I will continue as all parties are innocent until proven guilty, I just hope the right thing is done where both parties are satisfied.

Brian, I will have an order for you today...

Clarification: I did absolutely NO WIRING. My car was running great....better than ever with the exception of the needed tweaking of cold starts. The XFI was installed in Bowling Green. The car was then driven to NC where it had no wiring issues. I had all the plug and play stuff for the XFI install. XFI was the ONLY 'electrical' mod done to the car after it left New Orleans. My car was at GBodyParts for T-Top Metal replacement period. I rented a room at the Motel 6 near his shop. I didn't drive my car back and forth. The car stayed at the shop and I was shuttled back and forth. I've always done my own work to my car but I am not a welder. I know nothing about welding. I felt this job was over my head and decided to take it to the man that invented the parts and has done the job many times to get the best results. Brian moved my car between three different bays and did some work on it outside when sunlight was brightest. The battery was hooked up for his convenience of moving the car.

My insurance policy allowed me to legally drive the car on public roads. I did not have policy coverage for this. My attempts to aquire his insurance information have been unsuccessful. He wouldn't provide it. You can best believe I tried to get it so that I could file a claim.

No pressure of me telling any one. Your actions speak clearly. I'm just telling you, screw with the Bull you get the horns.

You will get the horns like I did.

Bull ?, lol, you don't look like much to me Brian Weaver. You look more like a little tulip.

Joe

Unfortunately, you need to take this in the court of law or some sort of arbitration. Have you filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as they usually have an arbitrator. Then again, Brian may not even respond to the BBB as he is not obligated to. There is other means of possible resolution, Attorney General's office of the state of where Brian's shop is or just ake him straight to court. Either way, your STATUE OF LIMITATION may of ran out! And that mean you are SOL!

This is a tough one. I thought I read earlier that the seats were on fire. Was that where the fire started?
What wiring could possibly be the culprit to start the seats on fire? Just curious.

D

Maybe it's time to close this thread and let them hash it out. Nothing useful is going to come from anything else in this thread. If something gets decided, they can if they want let us know the resolution. Personally I think both parties have some degree of responsibility. Only the parties involved know exactly what happened. Everything else is just speculation and supposition. At this point it seems like lawyers will be needed to fix this. I got nothing else to say on this.

Brian claims that I misrepresented the rust in my T-tops. This is one of the emails that we exchanged. You can see where he says that he welds in new steel. This was one of the main reasons I opted to have him fix it. These emails started out with me in search of a rolling chassis. I didn't know that it was possible to restore/remove/reverse rust damage in T-Tops to the extent that he claimed he could. When I read the part about welding in NEW STEEL I was convinced that this was what the dr. ordered.

I don't know how to post a copy of an email to the forum so I did a screen shot of it.

The Screen shot was to small to read. I attached the email as a text doc two posts down.

At this point, anyone other than admin or mods and Clay or Brian that posts until this is either resolved or closed, is risking being banned. This is so the 2 parties involved can work it out without more BS being added. Thank you.
