I have a true story to tell. How I lost my GN @ Gbodyparts

First, my statement wasn't an argument, bud. Driving with liability only insurance is driving with no insurance for yourself, and that's just plain stupid, IMO.

Second, your "covered this no problem" statement only goes to show you to be pretty naive when it comes to business insurance. You have no idea that probably every one of the stores/dealers/shops where these guys worked never used the insuarnce to pay for repairs to vehicles damaged in their places of business. They just paid it out of store profits and took it as a loss because, like "a lot of people drive their cars w/o full coverage all the time" for a business owner to be able to afford a gargekeepers policy they more often than not purchase them with deductibles starting at $50 -75K. You have to mess up something pretty bad to make it worth filing a claim. So GBP would be coming directly out of pocket on this deal if he ends up paying.

There are always 3 sides to a story. Person #1's, Person#2's and the Truth.

None of us weighing in here know the whole story, we don't know Brian's side yet and the truth, well, "It's out there".

Like I said Quicksixxxx, I have no dog in this fight but until you can prove you know what your talking about and that you have a thorough understanding of how business insurance really works, don't come in here spouting off about how "easy" this all could be.

It's not.

TurboTGuy you are the almighty! You know all, I am bowing down, yes you are the truth, you are the Dalai Lama!! Thank you because all of your infinite wisdom has enlightened me, can I pay you, can I please just do something to pay you back for your oh so kind and amazing words!!!????

You are dog fighting and you are spouting off so if you wanna argue then lets do it in PMs, otherwise...

Get a life, bud......

I'm reading this BS not even knowing where to start at.
Here seems a good place:
"But first I had to drive over to Gbodyparts to have Brian install his stainless steel T-Top metal parts replacement kit. I'd worked out being away from my family for two weeks to get all this done. One week at Bowling Green and one week at Gbodyparts. Brian confirmed that he could get the kit done in that time frame so plans were made and carried out. "

"After he took care of some other matters that he had to do he began on my car. I was there it help him as needed as we had agreed through our emails leading up to this job. I did the PIA work saving him valuable time. He was doing everything else. He'd grind and cut and weld, I'd clean and sand, scrape and play fetch for him. I thought things were going rather slow but I figured he knew what he was doing so I just did as I was told and had faith that he was on schedule, after all he's done this before. Well things started to not go so well. He couldn't get a good weld going."

No, Clay you sent me small rust hole pictures on the ends stating they were about a quarter size. Reality is the like the rest of the car roof it was a rusty mess.
Some of the matters? We had just packed for 2 weeks to get ready for BG. I drove out did a show & had to come back & unload & fill orders. I worked back there when I could to do what should of been a pretty quick job. Of course it wasn't. I explained how hectic things were after a show & tried to push him off at least a week but his schedule wouldn't allow it.
So I said well I can do this in 10 hours. I have done this since 98 when we came out with the kit. You can see by the pics it wasn't a little rust in the corner. A-pillars flapping & nothing to weld to.
Glass was going to have to come out the whole back of the roof was gone.

Clay did you mention the wiring you were doing? Of course not. This will lead us up to why the battery was hooked up & where the fire came from & the fire marshall's report.
But like your fire fighting skills You had tons of stereo & wiring expertise.

Ok going to take a break & grab anoher paragraph.

And hey man, lets take GBP out of this....

If you bring you car anywhere for work, it has to be given back in the same condition it was brought there in (obviously + any upgrades, if that was the scope). Like MANY people on this thread have said, oil plug left out, fix it, scratched, fix it, flat tire, fix it, roof falls on it, fix it. Simple I would say.

Okay, good luck to all, gang up on me, support me do whatever you want, say what you want, try and offend me I wont chime in anymore.

I wish the two parties the best.

Brian I agree, I have no idea why this guy was working on his car at your shop,!! Like I said I took your company out of the equation and made my comment but I realize that it was somewhat derogatory toward you so I apologize. Like I mentioned I spent a lot at your company so I think that has to count for something and I am looking forward to hearing your side of this story.

Thanks

Well I was asked by my employees who were here during the event not to even read the "True story", Which is total BS. Let me start with who hops on the band wagon with out knowing there is a second side to every story. SuperSix Mark Santiago who stole our business name by changing the e-mail address & embezzled me for $4500. Took my site down for 2 weeks. That is right I am not allowed to publicly discuss because he had me sign a paper under direst. You have balls idiot. Shane Grimsley can back this up he still has the e-mails as do I. Go back under your rock crack head. Don't like it sue me. Which is getting ready to happen here. I'm going to step away for a few minutes to calm down. but trust me I 'll be posting here shortly. He isn't the only one with pictures. Fire fighter my ass he never grabbed a extinguisher but wathched it burn for 5 minutes. Like I said I am going to walk away for a few. My employees weren't kidding.

Whoa, fella. Don't deflect on me. You have much bigger fish to fry than me. I was pretty goddamn diplomatic in my posts, and for the most part, I plan to stay that way.

This website you speak of. Gbodyparts.com, right?

The one I set up and maintained for 3+ years?
The site that I handled all the hosting, and ended up paying for it most of the time, because your credit cards were always getting declined?
The site that arguably built much if not most of your business in your first years?

The cost of just having to deal with your scatter-brained business tactics was worth 10k at least. I sincerely hope you consider rudimentary business classes, at the local community college.

I know what the online sales were when you finally paid something for the services and site when I sold it to you. $4500 is a pittance compared to what I helped you sell, saving your ass because you couldn't pay the >$15.00 hosting bill.

Oh yea, you sent me some parts. A rusty turbo shield, a Translator Plus that was Bailey's test mule (Rare, I guess?), and some shitty bumper fillers. Yay.

I wouldn't piss on you of you were on fire much less sue you, you can get blood from a stone.

I suggest you focus your attention to the PR disaster you have here.

Or should we discuss what you say about Shane behind his back?

(Don't worry admins, I won't air anything like that)

We can continue this via PM, if you care to, Brian.

If he was responsible I think he or the insurance would have paid. I do not no either person. I vote this to be pulled off but who asked me. Good luck to all. This just makes things look bad on turbobuick.

No need to you want to get into my post with me I will call you out. No deflection here & I don't think Shane is worried about what you have to say. No Pr disaster & the truth will come out. We can handle your shister acts here or have Shane move it. No $ here for you today. We can speak when ever you would like. 3 years of non maintenance is easy to prove. I didn't embezzle you.

OK guys, this is between 2 members and 1 is a vendor. It's up to Brian to address this and not up to others to take pot shots at Brian or Clay. I understand that you're upset Brian but ignore Marks post. That's a separate issue all together so leave it alone for now. I'm not getting in the middle here but trying to keep this on target so hopefully this will get some resolution.;)

There is still over a year left to take legal action. I'm hoping to avoid having to go that route. My plan for the car was to get an 'Agreed Value' insurance policy on it after it was appraised in its completed stage. It was going in for paint after this and then on to the appraiser. At the time of the incident I didn't have a full coverage policy on it. I wish I was joking about this. View attachment 196004View attachment 196005View attachment 196006View attachment 196007
Have you had an investigator independent of the city where your car burned evaluate the cause? Just a thought.

Sorry I was using your post for an example of what happened when I wasn't back there.
No need to apologize I'm moving on here.

I see so much but I'm going to stay on the larger areas of things.

" When I returned back into the shop I saw a glowing in the back of the shop where my car was. WTH is that? When I got to the area my car was in I couldn't believe my eyes. My car was engulfed in flames. The interior was fully ablaze and the fire was getting bigger. I began shouting for Brian. I did not know where he was. I was in fear for his life. Did he fall trying to get out of the car? Did he black out? I was so afraid that Brian was burning to death in my car that I scared the crap out of his dogs running around there hollering for help. Brian comes out from somewhere completely unaware of what was going on. I told him that my car is on FIRE. We go back into the shop and grab fire extinguishers but that fire was to big for those extinguishers when I first saw it. We tried to control it but to no avail the car burned until the fire dept. arrived. A little background about me: I was an industrial fire fighter. I captained my emergency response/fire/rescue squad at the refinery I worked. I am TRAINED at using extinguishers properly and effectively. After the fire dept extinguished the car with their hoses Brian was apologetic."

Ok so an Industrial fire fighter sees a fire. He checks to see if I am in the car. That makes sense this doesn't:
Then runs past the fire extinguishers on every beam to get me. The water hose laying at another beam behind the car.
Now I am not a fire fighter & had a new found respect for those that were that night.
When I heard him yelling I had no idea where he was. I was up in the front. Before that I had spent almost 40 minutes back there after welding cleaning up. Just like I did the 3 previous days of working on it.
I ran back there & see the front seats on fire. I literally jumped over cars to get to a fire extinguisher. I started spraying the car with a fire extinguisher. I look at Clay. He is watching.
I yell grab another extinguisher as I am emptying that one out & grabbing another.
I grab the second one & am on the passeger side. The next thing is a wall of flames being blown at me. Burns my leg & everything on the table behind me.
So a Commercial fire fighter blows an extinguisher at a person trying to put a fire out across from him?

A commercial fire fighter doesn't grab an extinguisher?
A Commercial fire fighter runs away with out attempting to slow down a fire or extinguish it?
A commercial fire fighter wouldn't know there is an extinguisher on every beam?
A commercial fire fighter doesn't grab a hose?
A commercial fire fighter when he grab an extinguisher blows the fire into another person?
Any commercial fire fighters out there beside Clay want to tell me if this is normal?
I'm not I just went off instinct of seeing something on fire that wasn't 45+ minutes previously.
I was burned & worn out I wasn't apologetic.

Charlie it is up to you. If you let that POS post I will chew him up & spit him out. Either here or another section. I wasn't the one with $ problems who embezzled him. He was a POS, he is a POS, & will always be a POS. Just so we are clear. You may want to speak with Shane.

Vendor pressuring to get me banned. nice. Not exactly "thinly veiled", but you're not known for your wit.

Anyway, as I said above, and as a courtesy to Charlie, Jay, and Shane - I will end this here.

Sorry for the distraction, OP.

If you'd refilled those extinguishers you'd know just how many I deployed. Here is just a little of my training certs....not that that's the issue here but I want everyone to know that I can verify everything I've said.

Edit: I removed the pics of the certs.

Well that seems fair and professional.
He stated our fire marshal who wrote the report with his 30 years experience wasn't experienced. I offered in another opinion from a larger area, Greenville or Raleigh. It was declined.
I really thought he would take it to Louisianna & get some one to agree with him & see his side. 2 years later he couldn't.

Did I mention his sister acting like she was a lawyer but wasn't? My lawyer had fun with that letter. Looked right up on the phone. She isn't a lawyer in any state was his response. he let her know that if she Charged Clay for her services there would or could be huge problems. I think he realized he didn't have to tell her acting like one wasn't either.

No pressure of me telling any one. Your actions speak clearly. I'm just telling you, screw with the Bull you get the horns.
