How well does this work with drag radials??????..........:confused:
Ronnie,

It will work with ANY tires as long as your having fun! Are they competitive? No not so much... The main thing is to go out there and try it and have fun at first then if you like it you can start with things to make you better & faster..

Seat time, seat time, seat time is what really makes you faster and I need more of that too! :)

Here is a video of my old car back in 2006 on a banked oval track with a crazy 8 configuration, made for a crazy Auto-X..... Video's alway's seem to make the cars look slow from a distance for some reason...

Car had all Stock suspension except for a H&R Rear sway bar...

This video was from 2010 just after the DSE suspension and on STOCK brakes! (Click on image to view)

Not one of our GN's but here's a few runs in the "tank". Looking at possibly setting up "my car" to handle better and use it some next season. I think the wife is set on a Miata hybrid (V-8 or V-6) for next year. She currently runs a friend's Neon. Scott your car is th BOMB! Love the color and the set up. Way to enjoy it and be different. I'm sure you get a ton of interest in it at events.

It doesn't matter what you drive. Just have FUN!

So late to the party...

2004:

2008:

I flatspotted the good tires at the second event above and never replaced them, so I haven't had it back out since then. Been racing my 240Z instead.

Hopefully I can finally get some good in car and on car footage from autocrossing the GN. I just picked up an external mount that can go on windows and body panels, sort of like a Go Pro but I can use my own video camera. It should arrive today or tomorrow, but the next autocross isn't for a few weeks I think. I will get some test footage and post up!

BuickMike231 and Turbo6inKY... Nice runs!! Glad to see your driving them!!!!!

Turbo6inKY , that Auto-X you posted ,looks like was it held in Indy? under what event or group?

What are/is/was your chassis/suspension and wheel and tire set ups? Thanks ahead of time....

Thanks man! I am running Detroit Speed shocks and springs with stock everything else in the suspension for now. I will be doing a complete DSE suspension like Scot W as money allows. I'm also running stock GN wheels with 235/60 BFG Radial TA's with Nitto 555R drag radials in back. I know it's a ghetto set up for autox but the DR's work well! I do have all the frame braces as well, but other than that not much else.

Sorry for the delayed reply. That was at a Winged Warrior charity event at ORP. I won my class handily with a solid mid-pack autocross finish, and then crushed everybody on the drag strip and the concourse judging. It was a fun event, it's unfortunate the management wasn't up to the task and they folded. The autocross pad is gigantic.

The setup isn't too fancy. It's a set of Pole Postition (now SPC) adjustable upper front control arms with the metric Chevy truck ball joints to raise the roll center, Moog 5660 springs in the front, and the Wilwood HD 10.75" front brake kit. The rear is a set of Moog cargo coils. Poly bushings everywhere except the chassis side of the rear control arms, and Bilstein shocks. I also have all the chassis bracing (rear seat and up front). Swaybars are stock.

Tires were 245/50R16 Bridgestone RE-750s mounted on GTA 16" wheels. Excellent tires, I was very happy with them. I guess they've been replaced with the RE-950 now?

There are some changes afoot, however. I just ordered a set of NT01s, a transmission cooler, and my new turbocharger is sitting on the workbench. As soon as my new TurboTweak chips get here, I'm going to have a nice wrenching day. I'm fully expecting a car that's going to be able to hurt some feelings.

Not much - - the 17's, Bilsteins, Eibachs, rear LCA's, poly body bushings, all the bracing, poly front swaybar bushings & endlinks, and a Blazer rear swaybar.
