Had a TE60 on it for awhile with the stock converter and hated it until it spooled up so i finally ended up putting the stocker back on, now i'm looking to maybe get one for next year. Looking for something that will work with what i have also will be looking to get a front mount and alky too.

Any suggestions?

PTE for the front mount IC , Julio's Alky Control System

yea thats what iv been looking at.

Are you keeping the stock converter?
I was planing on it.

stick with the stock turbo
Well if i were to go with something other than stock is there any out there that will give me more but still spool like the stoker or better, any of the newer turbos that are out there?

tmk there is nothing out there that will spool as fast as stock with the stock d5 converter. If there was it would likely be running far to the left of the surge line on all partial throttle conditions

well what would be a good converter turbo combo that would be perfect for the street and maybe a trip or two to the track?

A restalled d5 with what you have. A Garrett ex housing helps a lot too

if your not going to upgrade the converter to compliment the bigger turbo leave the stock turbo on.the stock turbo,d5,sticky tires, is a good livable combo that can be a strong combo.alky is a must have.

seems to me the best bang for the buck would be put the te60 back on with a good 10 inch lu converter say 2800/3000 stall and alky, with your other mods it would feel strong, a restalled d5 12 inch doesnt feel nearly as good as a smaller one at the same stall, been there done that, and use the front mount money for the converter, when i went smaller/lighter, less rotating mass on my converter my car felt incredibly differrent, even idled better with 12 lbs of the crank, and that was with a te44 and now a 6262 dbb turbo also, spool up is violent! and fun

Agree about the converter. When I had a TE60 I bought a NC LU 2800 12", cost ~$300, it spooled fast however not as fast as a 49. A RJC boost controller may help.

Well don't have the 60 anymore i was kinda thinking of going with a dbb turbo they seem to spool faster than the older turbos i don't know maybe one of those would be to much for me or for what i want. Right now i'm not sure what i'm going to do as i'm trying to sell the car but if its not gone come spring i will be doing something a converter, turbo, alky, tires, and hopefully a new paint job will be coming.

What are your goals for the car? 10-11 second street car? A TE60 with a Garrett .63 exhaust housing and good 2800 rpm converter will spool fine on a street car. My old combo spooled very quick.

My advice would be to call PTE & talk to Pete Barton he will guide you to the right choice. That way you're getting the latest technology.
