Ran into this guy at the local spot. Car looked great, beautiful blue paint and polished wheels. I asked him if he wanted to run. He had a upgraded heat exchanger, bigger exhaust, intake, tune and a pulley for the stock unported Eaton. We went from a 45 roll, not the best area for my car. First run he took the hit and pulled a car length on me while my turbo came up. He missed the shift into 3rd and let out. I went by him and shut it down.

Second race, same speed. He pulled on me again, not much, but I gained it back once my 62 came all the way up. I didn't pull that much on him, and I could see the front 2/3 of his car out of my peripheral vision. He hit 4th and pulled even with me and I lifted when I hit 5500rpm (damn stock cam & 26s)...

So I call it a draw. Guy was cool. He said he was picking up a Stieg Stage 5 ported Eaton so that'll put him over 500rwhp with all the other mods.

Not a bad night at all.

Nice runs :) Those Terminator Cobras are no joke, I've even look at a few to buy in the last couple of years, I haven't bitten yet. Not your average Mustang and they mod real nice. Ford did it right with those cars.

Nice runs!! The title got my attn. because one of my best friends has a sonic blue cobra. I read your sig. , if you would of run up on him, he would of absolutely ripped you a new "one".I owned a 03 cobra for 4 yrs. , gotta be careful what you roll up on.

what does this statement mean? Seams as if he did run up on him and hung with him. i bet the TR would've taken him from a dig.

That's my favorite color for the 03/04 Cobra's....and those are my favorite Stangs.

Get him to go from a dig next time....going form 45mph, you're right in his wheel house, and over 80mph they really come alive.

Good hanging with him.

Ghall meant if it was his friends Cobra. I have a friend with an 03 and its a hand full. I must admit. I had him spank a t-type in a grudge race this year. The T- type wants a rematch too.

Modern day v8 engines beating up on a 25 yer old v6.LOL And they brag about it:biggrin:

isnt that wat he did? and btw, ive yet to see a cobra run faster then low 11's at the track. im sure there are faster ones but ive yet to actually see one make a 10 second pass yet ive seen TR's run 10's all day long. even junk ones with stock bottom ends. im sure there are fast Cobras but they are few and far between

Your wrong. Everyone I know that has one say they run low 10's:biggrin: And then on track day something is wrong with the car.

It's been my experience that they all say what they "would" run at the track...but very few have actually been to the track...they are always on the dyno queening it up....so they put their dyno numbers into an online calculator to come up with their ET and MPH.

I don't know the guy personally, but Ive seen him around the Newark area. I think it's his daily, I always see him driving it. I just ran into him out at the hangout.

From what I hear, a unported, pullied car is good for about 450-460rwhp, depending upon conditions and the tune in the car. He wanted a roll to avoing wheel hop, but at that speed it dead hooked anyway...

My good friend has a mint, low mile SB '03 and he has all the same mods, and a full exhaust and stage 4 ported Eaton and he makes 510rwhp. It's a pretty quick car. My other buddy has a 600rwhp T-Trim '03 GT with a built 2v in it.

Im gonna try and do ported irons and and SLIC soon so that will help my car out some hopefully. Maybe a cam too so I can use the 26s on the street.

That is indeed what he did, which is why i said--be careful what you roll up on. A low 11's cobra around here will get you laughed at.

On a roll, the are differences between a 10 sec. regal and a 10 sec. 03 cobra, i can tell you you from experience my mid 10 sec. GN got its clock cleaned by my low 11 sec. 03 cobra on a roll with me driving the GN and my WIFE driving the cobra.
