I can't count the times that I've read rave revues about an engine, or trans that somone got a week ago, only to have it take a dump a month later.

Just over a year ago, I payed, what I thought at the time was a fair price for a stout motor to meet my performance goals. Since then, if you factor in all the free extra car parts, tech support, and moral guidance:D , it wasn't a fair price. It was a steal.

Today, this thing made 507 RWHP and 498 TQ on the dyno. It did this on a conservative tune of 22 lbs boost and 25 deg of timing. This was with 91 oct, Razor's alky kit, and a stock location intercooler. After todays pulls, and a years worth of floggings at this power level, I thought that it was a good time to do a compression and leak down test. All compression numbers were around 150. All leakdown numbers were between 4.5 and 5.5%. Oil pressure is right where it was when new. I've now got about 30 dyno pulls, 100 (race track;) passes) and some long trips on this thing.

Just wanted to share my (and many others) positive engine buying experience with Lou's auto.

Thanks.

this is good news to me! I can only hope for such great results! From the research I did, and I do a lot, Lou is a wise choice!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. This type of encouragement enables me to continue & hang in there. I keep waiting for this Buick thing to die but it keeps enduring & just getting better. The big thing back when these cars just came on the scene was to run 11's & make 400 h.p. look it now.9 & 10 sec E.T'& 700 plus H.P. on a weak platform production motor that was probably designed in the mid 70's are no big thing. Really amazing when you think about it. Plus its a Buick a marque that was never supposed to be associated with high perf.

Still running strong after another year.

Been almost two years now of floggings at 500+ RWHP level. Oil psi, compression, and power level is still like new. Yesterday at Fontana raceway my faithful Muton motor pulled my 3600 lbs GN to a new best time of 10.87 @ 122. This was on 91 oct with alky, SLIC, DRs on steel GN rims, 22 lbs of boost, on a 85 deg day.

This was also recorded by the internet show "Garage 419". Not sure when it will air. Will try to post a link when it does.

Thanks again.

Another year of ten second floggings.

I must now have at least 400 ten second passes or dyno pulls on this bullet, with "zero" motor issues. It seams to be just getting started. To this day, I get "0" oil off my breather. Oil psi is right were it was when new. Yesterday, at the track, my car hung the hoops a foot off the ground and pulled me to a new personal best ET of 10.55 @123 mph. Best mph was 126 at 23.5 lbs of boost. All runs have been on 91 oct and Razor's alky, with safe tunes.

Thanks again Lou.:)

tunned by a guy who is full of HOTAIR ;)

Yes:), thanks for all the hours of help with the new Power logger tune. I think that there's at least a low 10.4x wanting to get out, with a bit more tweaking.

lets put some good gas in it and see what she will do. i would be curious how much boost we could put to it.

Yah I be also curious to see how much it will take to blow it up, mike listen to words of wisdom and listen to Lou, if you want to go any faster do us a favor and upgrade your injectors and to a better fuel pump, you are running on the ragged edge with what you got, You have a gorgeous beautiful GN and i would hate to see you do damage to it just because you want to see how far you can take it, the only way your going to find out how far it will go, is when you hear BOOMMM, and find yourself picking up crank parts of the track floor, take it for what its worth and be happy with what you have acomplished so far..

Ok mom...

Relax. I think that I have shown for many years, how to think outside the box, get the most out of a combo, and do it SAFELY. If you aint braking something, you aint trying hard enough.;) I think that many here would say that I go faster and brake fewer parts than most. This doesn't happen by luck. Luck comes to those that are prepared.

And, I am happy with what I've acomplished so far. I just want more. That's why we do this.;)

Now, let's not screw up Lou's cool thread any more, or I wont be able to extract any free lunches from him.:D

Happy spooling.
