I am sorry but should i be impressed with this car?

Probably has stroker motor, aluminum heads, etc, etc.

Again should i be impressed?

No, he just wanted to look big talking to someone he knows has a slower car...

I was told yesterday quote " Your like a little kid I can't leave you alone for a minute". Sorry for trashing up this thread it has enough in it with out me.:D

I gotta ask as i dont know the history here but did someone wreck, get hurt or run into another driver recently?
I assume so based on all the language etc but just curious.

Kind of, but nothing really to do with the THS class or this thread for that matter.

Just seems to me That everyone is bashing the rules. Instead of spending hours on a website arguing about it...go in the garage, make the changes and go out and race.

Let me first say that Josh is the kind of guy that goes to Buick races all over the country and pays to get in and either race or help with a fellow buick racers car. Alot of the times in class racing he has been supporting the buick races by helping with cars and his countless years of racing. This cost money and he gets absolutely no chance to win or receive anything from the race or anyone. Now that is a supporter who spends his money just to be apart of what he loves and isnt even racing his car at the time. Especially on 14hr trips one way to a track.

Having said that you above qoute sounds like you want people to start jumping out in the garage to start changing crap to meet rules that a bunch of guys sat around and made up. Let me remind you that the last race which none of the people involved in the rules attended, was Nov 5,6 and it was two months later (3 months really b/c they didnt attend the last race) for the rules to come out only after I started a thread to request the rules. This gave racers two months (8 weeks) to change the car or even build a car to meet the 2011 rules before the first race... (of course it has been rescheduled now/but that wasnt a factor with the rest of the comment just lucky for guys who are going to change their car to meet the rules and ATTEND the first race).

This comment is not directed toward you Kevin, but it seems that things get twisted up and off target alot.

The reason people are on here voicing there opinion are b/c they care... Trust me if they didnt care they wouldnt be taking the time to type long paragraphs and state valid opinions. Having said that I do not appreciate being the target (of course this will be denied, but as you can see I showed completed honesty on my car but have yet to receive it back or get questions answered).
Of course, now we are the shotgun blast at me actually got some of the other THS racers which was an unintended hit I am sure. For those guys I am sorry that you have been knocked out by the rules aimed for my particular car.

You see there was no complaints or questions about the A Arms and that has been demostrated on this 5 page thread b/c if it had people would have spoken up already about them. So the question is why were they targeted when they were allowed and all of a sudden they came to mind to outlaw. Well that fact is in another thread with my congratulations of making the fastest pass with a picture of my car showing the a arms. It is what it is... and what it is... is that my car was singled out to change the rules...

But now that I make this point... I expect that the next couple of post by "the group" will have all these so called complaints about the A arms that no one has ever heard about.

Its really no different than the other crap that went on in BG when it was specifically said that when a car was accused of breaking the rules that the accuser needed to be indentified. But it wasnt...

I was warned about how all this would happen a year and a half ago long before I ran the first THS race, and I passed it over saying that the masses of buick people wouldnt stand by and watch that kind of crap happen...

Well here we are....

Have a nice day,
See ya,
Cheers,

Kip--I would like to race in THS during the 11-14 May TurboBuick.com event.
I meet all of the rules except I have tubular A-arms. Will I be allowed to race in THS then?

Wow, I ask one question and now there haven't been any responses in this to thread in 24 hours!

WTF as the Buick World Turns....what ever happened to the spirit of this class...From an Event Organizers point of veiw we loved this class...it was created IMO as a class that pretty much anyone who was not a serious racer could compete in. To me it sounds like it is getting more restrictive and turning into a true racers class and not a daily/ocasional Racer class. This creates a Dilema as payouts are based on how any cars show up..If rules are too restrictive participants will not show and those that do will not get the full payout... Safety is also an issue...what NHRA IHRA approves for safety is for Race Cars but Fiberglass Bumbers etc do not conform the NHSI Safety so is it a street class or a Race Car class...The BPG would like to host this class again and when rules are finalized please let me know so I can link them to the BPG site and print them for the Brochure

The spirit of THS is alive and well. The rules PLAINLY try to include and appeal to the broadest cross section of buick racer, casual or otherwise, I myself being of the casual variety! That was and still is the core belief that Kip has stuck with since day one. This is and always will be his class. Its his concept from day one. Sure hes seeked imput from ALOT OF DIFFERENT PEOPLE, FROM ALOT OF DIFFERENT PLACES. REGARDLESS OF WHAT SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO THINK. But in the end its his vision. And I for one think its a pretty solid one. In all the rules that there are in THS, most of them are really just common sense stuff that describe to the T the majority of turbo cars out there. All were made in the name of INCLUSION of as many people as possible. The tweaks only are made to help maintain the spirit of the class PERIOD.Its a real SHAME that so much has been made about this rules situation. Its been stated time and time again that the control arm thing is an astetic choice, and thats it. The TRZ arms scream racecar. Just like my pump. So , its something that needs changed. Its distracted everyones attention away from the fact that its really a great class! Please bear in mind that all this horse $h!t was started ,really by one person who thought he could bring a "DESERT EAGLE" to a knife fight, and got all a$$ed up when he got CUT! Up until now certan things have been allowed but warned about to make sure car count met expectations, and to make sure everyone had fun. Now that THS is a certified repeatable entity that can stand on its own as a legit class in the TR world, I for one dont see the harm in rules tweaking. Especialy when they're done in the spirit of improving the class. They affect me too. I have to move my beloved big fat SX pump hanging under the rear bumper. BIG DEAL!! I want to race more than I want to look like a TSO car. So I'll change it. I really hope that people following this post see it for what it trully is. Ant thats just one or two people with a complete unwillingness to admit that they are in the wrong. Hopefully all this crap will die and people get over their problems and we have a great 2011 in THS.

How are they wrong? Since the inception of THS the rules allowed after market a-arms (with no gray area in the rules) and one day they are no longer acceptable. And don't compare changing control arms to relocating a fuel pump. JMO.

I would hope no one has bought tires for this season yet,at the least not running last years tires.

A lot of ths racers aren't hardcore and do get a couple seasons out of tires. Also I know of a few that bought new tires at the end of the year...so yes there are a people with tires already.

hell with a Slo-GN one can go a long time on a set of tires. My Mickey T's are three yrs old now. There is still some left in tread but the side walls are starting to crack.

But hell i got my money's worth out of them anyhow.

I went in the low 1.50's in BG on them. nothing amazing but do ok

Well looks like you will need a dot tire to run that other class. Best bet would probably be a dot slick. Being successful with dr's requires a lot of work. The quickest car in ths (sean) last year had dr's. Running a boost controller like an ams500/1000 really helps out a lot. Problem is that with the co2 lines and tank and everything else you are going to have to spend $750+ at least.
