I guess I will go ahead and start this thread since there has not been any for awhile for the BAY AREA REGION. :( :( Tomorrow I will start the voyage of trying to build an 11 sec car with the potential to dip into the 10's here and there. For the last 6 months I have spent numerous hours reading and researching our cars, along with countless $$$. :biggrin: I love every minute and dollar spent though. :rolleyes: I will be doing these things in stages, and would like any feed back if possible. I will be starting first thing in the morning.

Sat 9/26/08: Fuel Pump w/hot wire kit, Fuel Regulator, Fuel Pressure Gauge, 160 Thermostat, Heated O2, Knock Gauge, Adjustable Wastegate using stock DP & turbo, :( Cold Air Kit, and some new plugs. I think that will be enough for the day. I just got all the fluids changed and used ROYAL PURPLE on the oil.:D

I will drop a line in Sat evening or Sun morning.

I will also try to get as many flics as I can!

Quest for more Boost

All the parts mentioned in the first post are all on. :biggrin: When I dropped the tank I was surprised to see a WALBRO pump inside the tank already:eek: . I went ahead and replaced it anyway. Since I'm off tomorrow, I will have a chance to take it to Pete's Gear Shop and get the Moser axles and the Eaton Posi unit installed. After that I will install the new FMIC.:D Something that I also thought was cool was when I took a measurement of the exhaust, it was 2 1/2 inch with some Flow Master.:biggrin: I won't touch them until I go 3 inch. Does anybody know where a Dyno Shop is? I want to get a baseline and see the progress over time. I will keep you guys updated. Thanks for looking.

Getting ready to give an update this weekend. I have got alot done and the car is on POINT.
 
Almost there!!

I can say that this journey has been a fun and expensive one. I pretty much have all the bolt on's on. Every thing but the Wide Band, fresh trans & converter, and the BILLET WHEEL:eek:. I must admit, on the stock turbo @ 23 psi (no knock) ;) the car feels real good. I know when I put the parts mentioned above on, I have a feeling the the car should come alive. I'm waiting on the trans to arrive so I can get ready to head to Sac Raceway.:D .

I have no seat time :redface: and I did not just put all this $$$ just to look pretty. Two more weeks and I should be at a test and tune night in Sac.
 
The QUEST continues!!

Alright, one year later and here is an update. Right when I placed my 6262 on the stock long block, it spun a bearing. :( I only had it on for no more than 25 miles. I guess these new turbos will reveal any weakness if you have any.

After 5 months of eating TOP RAMEN for lunch, I’ve just ordered the last parts needed for my rebuild and sent my builder the first deposit! He should have my block by next week. :biggrin:

With this new build and the current parts I have, I hope everything will mesh together. I know it will take me time and tuning but I should be able to get there. Our combos are very similar.

Tony did end up selling that one in the pic. He picked up a nice GN that was in an accident. He's getting it together now. I just sold my radiator and fan to him because the car has a wrecked front end.

I'm down to head to Sac and see some fellow buick members run and just hang out.

i don't know if it was your car but the set up seems the same as the we4 i seen at mizzi's a couple months ago when i had my T there.... nice car....:biggrin:
 
Things that will come back to Haunt You.

Well, I’m 4 weeks behind due to some jail time I had to do over a DUI that I got 2 years ago.(Lesson Learned):redface: I was supposed to do 24 days Sherif Work Program and I never got around to it. I figured I will take care of it when they caught me. Well, they caught me and time is served. :cool: I don’t have that dark cloud also known as a warrant hovering over my head anymore. :rolleyes: I’m glad I didn’t get a chance to ship the engine, because I would not have been able to communicate with my builder. I just talked to the guys over at Weber and everything is back on track. The block, heads, and other parts should be arriving at Weber Racing May 4th. They gave me a 4 week turn around so I will be looking at early to mid June. I feel like a kid waiting on Christmas!!! I can't wait!!

Update!!

I think I might have gone too far. :eek: After speaking with Sean over @ Webber, and discussing my goals, I went ahead and bumped up my combo a little. They are subtle changes but I think they will allow me to reach my goals a little more safely.
