Paint, no pooper scoopers for me! Don't hate dogs just too high maintenance for me. Also the fact that a German shepard attempted to rip my throat out when I was a toddler might have something to do with it.

I know that feeling. A GS took a bite to my leg as a 6 year old. no sueing in those days. but those people moved quickly outta the hood because we had an excees of 30 kids in our 1960's hood.

Now I have a Crazy Schuazer. smaller teeth don't hurt as much. :D

get a dog

you should consider a english bull dog.. they are great with kids and you'll never have to worry about them being agressive

We got a doberman when my sisters were only like 3 and 4. She was the sweetest dog in the world. Would bark like crazy when she heard someone coming in the house, but just wanted to jump all over you and play once she knew who it was. To be honest, I don't know if she would even have attacked an intruder...she was a giant sissy, scared of thunderstorms and what not...just made a good alarm. Lost her at age 6 mysteriously...just kind of went downhill all in one day :(

Anyhow...I vote dog as well...plus black is a pain in the ass to keep clean.

Hey Give my Schnauzy back! OMG they look soo alike.

Had ours groomed today $58 flyn outta da wallet!
Groom him/her urself. I ordered I grooming video and learned myself. I use to pay $60 myself. It's really not that hard to groom a schnauser.

PAINT!

Dogs are $$ Expensive if they get sick & they will

They are expensive. Turbo my rott had surgery on his neck and then his spleen went south about two years later.I do have VPI pet insurance but it still cost me more than it would to paint my car and have the engine rebuilt:eek: PAINT THE CAR FIRST .Just when I had the cash for the paint and engine he got hurt to the tune $12,200.Think paint:biggrin:

My $.02

I have 2 brats and no wife or kids. My brindle is named Baby and the other is Red. They are great watch dogs and keep the house safer. This is a major consideration since I live in the country. Both were abandoned and they have been a joy most of the time. Baby is very defensive and Red is just a big kid. Someone may make it past Red but if Baby doesn't know you then watch out. She already bit one of my neighbors because he tried to be stupid one night and kicked at her.

Although my wife and I loved my mini schnauzer, I say get the car painted. Your wife has stated she doesn't trust a dog. Dogs will sense that and take advantage of her. This will put her at odds with the dog. Mamma will not be happy and that means Daddy won't be either. Unless you both want a dog don't force the issue.

Ok the one thing you didn't say is how big will your yard be? You don't want to walk 2 feet and step in dog poop all the time and the big dogs like labs, rocks, shepherds, etc need some room to run and play. I am currently dogless as all mine have passed on and I miss them like crazy. I have had blue healers for YEARS and never care to have another breed after having mine, super smart dogs, easy to train, and I never had any worrys with my daughter being around them ever! They get to about 45-65 pounds or so but they do need someone to play with as they get bored and you have to train them like any other dog on stuff like not to jump up on you etc. That is any breed though really. Here is a few pics of my past friends. Do a search on the net about them. You may want to check them out. Tin Indian on here has healers as well and I am sure he will tell you they are great dogs as well. Daniel Ray

The other side of the coin though is buying a pup is cheap compared to a paint job so you may want to get the car painted now and talk her into a pup a little later lol.
