Yes you read that right, not intercooler and well tuned car ran the following timeslip last night September 15,2007 at Stanton Michigan temp 56 degrees
r/t .734
60 1.533
330 4.496
1/8 7.036
mph 96.5
1000 9.253
1/4 11.140
mph 119.44

Yes we are excited this has been a long time coming and well worth the wait, I backed that slip up with almost the exact same slip. Was trying to add fuel and for whatever reason the fuel table did not update. But we think maybe 10's on a stock block non stroked is very possible at this time.

WOW!!!
Congrats!!
WELL DESERVED!

What did you do different from your previous best?

You go get'um girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!All I can say is WOW! I know you and Carl have worked hard. Hey Leo,Can you hear them knockin???J/K CONGRATS!!!! :D Jamie= all of us=

Very nice times.
You both deserve this so much. Keep up the great work...

Brian

Well I covered Leo on his best on a stock 3.8 block,(his best was an 11.38 before going to his other motor set up) The real difference was the cooler weather it was like I dropped kick the car in the butt. My car has always ran better after I go a couple rounds. It helps I was at my home track and we just wanted to see where it would go. I started the evening going up in wheel spin and only netted a 12.29. The next pass was a 11.49, then she ran an 11.21 and I backed that up with a 11.25. The humidity was almost null and weather was still about 56 went back up and ran the 11.14 and then seen I needed more fuel, thought I'd updated the fuel table and went back up and ran the same slip almost exactly. The table change didn't save. Went up one last time and went into wheel spin on the line and still mph at 118. If I start using my trans brake on my Brian Hofner transmission I should be able to dip into the 1.4's sixty foots and hit the 10's from there. I think we finally have the combo, the transmission, the converter the tune. I love the mickey thompson drag radials and cooler weather.. :D  :D

Wow,that is awesome.

You leave on the brake and it should be in the bag.

Yeah I have to quit whoosie out and use the darn brake, I also forget to mention on the things that really helped was repairing the large exhaust leak we had in the crossover where my delta waste gate was attached. This might have been a huge difference in why it ran so much better. Still pretty darn excited that the car responded so well to the cooler weather and just hauled. Not taking anything away from anyone else but it's really nice to see what can be accomplished on a stock block with stock rods, crank and trw pistons with ported heads (not even bigger valves in these heads either-Thanks Bobb Mackley) and gasket matched intake. I know that if it doesn't go faster this seaon I did accomplish something. If I could get a 1.4 sixty I might just get that 10 but that's close best to date is 1.522 on a 13 pound launch off the foot brake. Everyone local says I'd shock the suspension better off the transbrake but it's the whole getting used to it like leaving in second I'm working up to. I know quit being a whoosie. Next outing I'll get the hang of it. I highly recommend Brian Hofner's transmissions to anyone looking for a great 200r4, just case he's reading this. LOL:rolleyes:

Cool stuff!!! congrats. also makes me wonder how much alot of the hotair owners would be really impressed if they retuned their cars for the cooler weather.

Jamie,
The trans will always launch in first. And will work 100% like it does now.
You are just mechanically releasing the brake by moving to second. You are moving the manual valve in the trans to uncover a land by moving the shifter.

What I recommend is launching by moving to second, and the moving the shifter right to 3rd. That way you don`t worry about shifting. But, with the 60 ft you are having now, you might not get any better off the brake. Since the suspension is fully loaded of the foot brake.

Brian Hofer

Brian that's the plan I just have to feel comfortable doing the release into second shouldn't be any big deal. I did a few launches already on the side drives at the track but was having too much fun off the foot brake. Actually a couple of the guys there said I wasn't fully loading the suspension off the foot brake and for whatever reason hot airs seem to sixty better then intercooled cars do off the foot brake. I know the car is launching way better then before but I wasn't pushing 13 pounds of boost either. One of your customers was there Terry Jannega from Muskegon and he says I could pull better on the transbrake. Won't know until I try it.

More fuel is a must in cooler weather, they'll go lean in a heart beat if you don't watch it. And will pick up with the fuel increase. I think a lot of folks with tuning can run 11's

AAARGGGHH Jamie,
Give yourself some credit will ya? :D
It is really not that easy.

Edit:
This is really a very remarkable accomplishment.
A testimony for all the HA's, Brian (trans) etc and to Lee for "paving the way".
(Don't think you will disagree mentioning Lee after reading many of your posts  )

No it's not easy, a lot of hard work and testing and falling on your butt and pulling your hair out and getting fed up then it's easy. LOL What I was trying to say is that with a lot of tuning and research and more tuning and more research and implementation and tuning and well you get the point. I would just love to see more respect given for all the hard work everyone here puts into their cars. Lee was a huge part of this, not all of it, I had this crazy idea way before he even was introduced to us. I thought back in 1999 when I bought this car it would be really cool to have a 10 second hot air, just because anyone can make a intercooled car go fast. Then we met Lee after already having an intial built and he gave us a lot of great information as well as goals to aim for. 100% correct in saying Lee deserves credit, heck without him would any of us have pushed it this far? Not really sure. I will have to give my Husband a huge amount of credit for this to even happen. He's been very inovative in his engineering of my set up and setting his ideas in motion. If things work out we might have something for next year. I'll keep you posted. His hard work is a lot of why I was able to get this far.

WFO once you get that car to hook you have a mid 11 pretty much covered with the right track set up. Remember that.

Yeah I've got a trans brake I've never used too.:D

My car's not the least bit set up for drag racing,Eibach drop springs bilstein shocks and stock swaybars still in place.Much less trying to do it all on 275/50 BFG drags...

I'm sure there's a couple MPH left in it with a good wideband tune too...
