Anyone have this brake setup on the turbobuick ? How does it perform over stock ? Is there any weight saving with this kit with the 12.19 inch rotor ? How does it fit with a 15 inch wheel ? Thanks

I just installed this kit on a customers GN and the 11 inch version on my car a few weeks ago, it saves some weight due to the thinner rotor and aluminum hub, calipers and bracketry. The 12" definately wont clear stock GN wheels, they JUST make it with 16" gta wheels. The 11" kit should clear 15s. Braking performance with the 11" on my car was similar to but slightly better than the heavy blazer brakes i removed. Install was cake as long as youre good with a hacksaw and can drill and tap accurate holes. Also noteworthy is you will need to pick up some 1/2-20 lug nuts, the hubs use 1/2" screw in studs. For the price vs weight savings im very happy with them.

Couple pics, first is my car with the 11", second is the modified spindle, i dont have a shot of the 12" mounted, thought i did

I installed the 140-22837 kit which is the 6 piston caliper with 12.19" rotors on 15" wheels , but they were not stock wheels . They were Centerline Telstars , also my Champion Billet fronts that are on my car now . The Centerlines were super close but the gap was bigger than their minimum clearance spec. The Champions I had to space the wheel out 1/4" to clear the face of the caliper due to the fronts being 15x3.5 wheels. I did a lot of measuring and mock ups but they did fit .

If I remember correctly the 6 piston caliper had more clearance than the 4 piston, that is why I went with the 6 . Compare the specs. on both .

I guess i should clarify, i didnt try to put a 15 on there but theyre so close to the 16's i wouldnt have bothered trying haha.

I had no choice as I already had the wheels. So I measured very carefully and many times then took a shot that they would fit , but yes it was close . The person I talked to at Willwood said they allow for a little fudge factor , lol .

I'm running billet specialties street lites 15x 3.5. In the description it says will fit 15 inch wheels but i just wanted to see if anyone had any problems before i lay out 1000 bucks. Dynoman how do you like the 6 piston setup, big improvement over stock ?

The switch to the Wilwoods was over the winter so the before and after was hard to tell other than there was zero fade slowing down from almost 130mph after a 1/4 mile pass . I love the look of the 6 piston calipers. You might have to space out the 15x3.5 wheel to clear the face of the caliper. I went 1/4" just to be safe but I think I could have gone 1/8"spacer.
I ordered mine with BP20 pads (they come with BP10 ) , better for high heat , but they squealed when coming to a very slow stop like when pulling into a car show . lol I switched back to BP10's and quiet now .
