I didnt exactly say to use a manual, but that an auto would most likely not handle road racing! which IMO it wont. Jehrico makes a very nice road racing manual tranny and even lets you tailor the gear ratios to your liking they have been tested to 1000hp and are used even in nascar. the reason most are opposed to the use of a manual trans behind the Turbo Buick is you cant build any boost when you apply the clutch pedal.thus in Drag racing you launch the car under 0 boost. so this would not apply to you. the setup would be fine,but to think about using it for a hauler,I wouldnt. by doing these things you will be turning your truck into a race vehicle that wont be something youd want as daily trasportation,or a work truck.
