Rebuilding question

For those of you who have rebuilt your own turbos, how have you gone about re-installing the turbine shaft with the new piston ring on? I cant figure out a way to get it on with the exhuast housing shrowed on...any answers would be greatly appreaciated as id rather not buy a new turbo when only the seals went on this one
