Question on head bolts thread sealent

Doing heads today, Ive read a lot of posting but Im a little confused on thread sealent 1st do i need thread sealent on all bolts, im thinking yes 2nd do i need a diffrent type of thread sealent on bolts for water jackets and 3rd what brand and type of sealent thank you

All the threads on the head bolts need sealant. I'd drop a couple of GM seal tabs in the radiator for good measure too.

I've used Permatex #2b for 40 years. It will not leak.

I decided to use all ARP stuff. I figure they built the bolts it is in there best interest to find the proper sealant. At one time I used the gasket maker (silicone) however it is thicker and will change torque settings over the ARP.

Use Permatex #2 or Aviation sealer, which is similar to Indian Head Gasket Shellac. I cleaned my studs with lacquer thinner and shot brake clean down the threads. Everything must be spotless for the sealants to works.
