What are you guys using for an oil pump pick up, are you using a generic one , is one better than another brand ? Does one have a larger tube or better screen?

I used a Melling stock replacement. No problems here. I don't think anybody makes a "high performance" version except for the ones specifically used for deep sump pans and those are just longer than stock.

Try your dealer

I prefer to use a genuine GN part.

They were still available a couple months ago.

If you go with the Melling, the part number is 20-IS2. Should be available at any local speed shop:smile:

Nick I took your advice & got a GM oil tube from the dealer - the tube looks alittle smaller than the aftermarket ones & seems to have a little more restriction by the bolt flange than the aftermarket? Why do you feel this is a better part? am I missing something? Thanx Charlie

don't worry

There is far more restriction in the front cover than in the pick tube or the block passages.
