I did some searching on this board and some others and now my head is spinning.
Wife's 1997 GM G10 / Express 1500 5.7L van is running like crap and I get no codes using an Actron code reader. I just need to read the sensors so I can do some troubleshooting.
I was looking at scan tools and the Equus 3140 looks great for just $190. It does OBD I and II, reads the live sensor data, and comes with all the cables!
However, I really like the PC-based scan tools. There seems to be a lot out there and I was wondering if anyone on this board has had any experience with the PC-based scan tools. One site for example is scantool dot net. I know there are others like opendiag and freediag, etc. I have no problem making a cable. I would like to keep the cost below $200.
(I have had winaldl, carchat, turbolink, directscan and I now have powerlogger for the buick)
TIA!
