The ignition module under my Magnavox coil on my 86 LGN just took a crap on me so I followed the advice of some guys on the LeSabre site and switched it with a more readily available type II module with the 3 individual coils. Supposed to be slightly better spark, more reliable and certainly cheaper to replace. So far, so good! Is there any reason not to do the same swap on our turbo cars? I haven't checked for sure, but I don't think there is any difference in the connectors between the LeSabre 3.8 and the Regals.

i ran the type 2 for a while

it had a problem driving my vdo tach on the shifts, it would lose the signal somehow. Other than that, it ran ok for a while then eventually crapped out.

i believe AC Delco sells the adapter harness to plug it in, and the mounting bracket is on every 3.8/3800 powered car built in the 90's and early 00's..
