Update: you have to make that cutout on the new ribbon in order for it to work. The new ribbon fixed my bad ground problem that made my right turn signal stay illuminated. Here is a pic.

Was yours already cut out like that ... what protrudes from the instrument assembly. Mine is not cut, I have a digital dash.

Mines was already cut like that. That's where the factory harness runs through.
