how big of a diff between the te-44 and a pt-51?

Just wondering because I was looking for a te-44 but there seems to be a lot of 51 going up for sale too..

I'd say very little. I had a 51 for the past 3 years. A decent turbo, but I should have gone larger... perhaps to a 62.

If I were you, I would do a search on the PT-51 to see what others think about this turbo. It has it's problems. That is unless they have been fixed now.

I ran a 51 for a while and while it make big power, I found it a little lazy trying to spool it up with the stock D5. Lots of negatives on the 51 reliability but mine worked perfectly and looked new the day I sold it.

The sweetest turbo/converter combo I have ever run for street, track and low-buck was a TE-60 with a .63 Garrett and a 2800 restalled D5.
