Has anyone made custom inner fenders with a cage?

I'm wondering if anyone that has a cage with the downbars through the firewall has welded a few tabs on to the bars and made some sheetmetal or fiberglass inner fenders to dzus on. I like the idea of keeping as much as as possible out from under the car and also not having to clean up whatever gets slug up by the road.

Anyone done this before?

Why secure the inner fenders to the bars? Why not fabricate and then fasten like the stockers?

They need to be very easy to remove, which the stock ones arent.
With a one piece front end, the inner fender structure is gone, so all of the factory mounting points are also.

I don't have anything forward of the doors at all right now, but I'm buying one in the next few months.
