Fastest Pump Gas / Alky Cars (updated 10.07.18)

Not bad for a test pass Pauly! I think the geometry can be tweaked a little on the launch but a nice clean run. Between that and keeping your foot on the pedal on the launch it should be doing some killer 60fts soon. The Mickey Pros are sweet.

Your next step is getting a physical and your comp license. Car is ready!

As far as my cars weight, I updated the weight reduction thread in the drag racing techniques section.......

Congrats again, another car in the 9s!

you dynoed it at 666 rwhp at 20.6 PSI? u have to be at least 20 PSI per pound with that Turbo.

this thread has been quiet .. lets wake it up !!
finally got the 87ttop GN to the track .
another one in the 9s for the lists
combo is a little over kill for tonights times but was built for much faster ...
109 +30 2 center mains, JE's, scat rods, china 3.40 crank, BHJ int, cat flywheel

weight loss stuff ... glass bumpers -hartline hood -Vfn decklid, full cage certified to 7.50

i got some test runs last October at a track rental and it had a shake to it then so i didnt turn it up past 20psi and only went 130mph with a 72P turbonetics, no grip with 1.55 60s spinning well through 1st gear, then a map sensor failure ended the day (xfi and alky were caput)

first pass this year with many changes since then , pulled the 72P and setup a 71hpq with a 4 bolt 81 housing that i changed ffroma 3"to a 3.5" vband flange , 15x10-15x6 alumastars, 275 mickey pros / 15x6 mickey SR's , ic relocate setup, fuel cell w/weldon pump, tr6. trimmed some weight ... kirkey pro driver seat , strange discs in rear, ac deleted , deka battery, trz rack n pinion , cm trans xmember , frame notch to tuck in the 5" backspace 10" alumastars , and some other stuff

was just looking for a test pass tonight to feel the car out so only planned to run the 1/8th ,
didnt touch the msbc-1 boost controller .. launch set at 2psi run at 14psi (+spring) and forgot what spring i had in gate so i wasnt going to mess with it
felt a little uneasy coming to the line not knowing what to expect
forgot to start the log on laptop with space bar , knock gauge was quiet , didnt trip the internal logger so no data .. didnt even look at boost gauge
only data was the time slip
1.43 soft launch slipped a little ..
6.29 110.73
10.46 @90mph ..... hit brakes hard after 1/8

so i went back for another pass with everything the same as the first run so i could get the data . figured it should be a low 10.0 so i was going to stay in it
1.475 ..
4.112
6.305 @ 111.76
8.209
9.829 @ 139.04

reviewed the logs

slipped back off the pedal on the hit and it had to pull back up from a tps at 21%, boost at 5.4psi and A/F dropped to 9.3
20deg timing
af 10.6-10.8
injectors at 62-63%
alky 125 psi
air temp in intake 61 Deg F very steady after 1st gear through entire run
base fp 45, running FP 65 steady
bat 14.2 no v-booster ,hotwired the xfi, 200A powermaster
shifted 1-2 5950, 2-3 5900 trapped 6050
converter slip is only at 5.0% with 666 hp to the wheels
running boost was only 20.6psi !!

i also spent sometime over the last week getting some weight out of murphster's T type . he was there tonight andshot a video of the run (looks slow to me) and he went to get his ttype on the scales .. maybe he will post the results
have a feeling when he gets down the track even without turning it up any from his last passes no one is going to believe the slip

new times and new car on the 109 list ...
my 87 GN ttop, 109 , 235cu, gn1 ,xfi ,th400 , 71hpq , ptc9.5 20 3.50 gears
the 86gn is still in play, last run was at 139 , just need a track to let me go at it since it only has a roll bar but the ttop is legal .. and as of last week so am I
first pass was unchanged and as expected went 1.50 6.28 112 9.80 139
bumped 2psi into the first half of track
could have tried for more out of the 60 but for now..
1.491
6.167@114.40 (another entry for the 1/8th list)
9.614@141.83

Glad to see someone got Motivated!!!
Man I wish you brought her to North Carolina!!!
Please bring her to Bowling Green!!!

my cam sensor is quiet now , but put some hurt on the starter trying to get it to fire a bad cam sensor a few weeks back
after the run car died on the shutdown waiting for the guy in other lane to turn off and wouldnt start then lost the starter.. replaced the starter and found the inj fuse blew which explains why it died but not why it blew , its better now added the hotwire to the rtx inj harness and changed the relay trigger to a different source .. loosing the inj fuse on a pass under throttle would have been bad

JD i need your 60 ' as a starting point

bowling green isnt going to happen , the date clashes with cecil and as a MAgna rep.. Ill be there

JD, turn that up for some 5.9s. Its hooking good. I'm hoping to go to the track in the next week or so to make sure Pauly doesn't get any ideas lol. I've got to adjust the rear suspension, its pulling to the right a little on the launch. Besides that, its ready to go.

murph didnt catch the first pass in right lane
we were running late , didn't think my truck was going to make it there , one cylinder was down leaving just 5 (its lust a little V6 ..4.3)
literally pulled it off the truck and went to line up for last round of qualifier for Q16 and V6
at a slow 9.87 earned the low V6 qualifier for Q16 and ended up being the only v6 in Q16 class even though there were some cars at the track that could have been in the field as cutoff for 16th spot was 10.75
the times for vids in order

1.66 6.41 113.7 9.87 141.25,
1.42 6.17 113.8 9.62 141.7
1.51 6.18 114.8 9.61 142.39
if you look at vid3 there was a lot of smoke at top on one of the passes q16 rnd 1 against the 8 sec shyhawk, they checked me at top of track and gave me the go ahead and i had to immediately get back to the burnout box to run the v6 bracket , no cool down and no time to check myself . on that pass #4) i had a violent vibration on shutdown at top of track.
had to call it a day , had a ATF leak somewhere under the car and had fluid on the driveshaft loop and floor , and with the shake it was something that needed closer looking in to so called it an early day .
turned out to be the bushing in the tail shaft housing worked its way out and slid down onto the slip yoke .
replaced the housing assembly so should be ready for another day
