My Walbro 340 is dying so I'm researching pumps now. Yes I've read all the threads on the Bosch 044/Supra-Denso pumps. 
But has anyone tried using the Bosch 040 pump yet? If so how do you like it? It's for in-tank use so it should fit better than the Bosch 044. I think it flows slightly less than the 044 but is on par (or maybe a little better) with the Walbro 340.
FWIW my WOT fuel pressure should be 67 psi. It would only get to 60 psi and then drop to 58 psi. I'm pretty sure the only thing that saved my head gaskets was the alky....boost at 24 psi, 750 mv and 0.0 knock on the Scanmaster. Thanks Julio!!
