I thinking of getting these. $90/used...can't be that bad. What else items would I need to complete the job? I have aftermarket lifters, prolly gonna buy a set of adj. push rods, I already have the aft'mark. cam button. prolly gonna need a new vally pan gasket and new gasket set for the timing cover. that's all I pretty much know. 218/218 might be a little much...it's cheap...and i dunno who sells a 210/210 that clayton suggested I use.

Did I suggest a cam for you? or is there another Clayton? Must of been one of those nights when we were at Gordon Biersch, that's why I don't remember ;) I think a 218 would be too much cam unless you have a high stall convertor and a bigger turbo and ported heads.

I know Geoff Cornwall in our club has had good success with a 212-212 comp cam in his hotair car. I think the only 210 cam out there is PTE's roller?

hehe...it was you :D maybe it was a 212/212? our eyes were too busy galking over the waitresses at GBs and to add to that, the Grade A alcohol we were drinkin' ;) Oh well..a 218/218 for $50 popped up and chanced that that one. the Hot-Air is comming out for some rebuilding while I sport the LC2/BRF from Dereck :D A bigger turbo is in store for for it, a TA33 possibly, maybe even bigger if budget permits...say a PTE54 :D...the 10" conv. I'm currently running is going to get openned up and bring up the stall from 2800 to 3500. When I get paid this week...I'll be ordering 2 rebuild kits from Bruce. One for the BRF before I get it in, and one for the BQ during the rebuild. I dunno though...Dereck's turning me on to the 400 trans too. :D I guess I better get used to passing [D] and into D. It's prolly going to take about a year and a half of saving money and building till it goes back into the car. I'd prolly have just the weekends and holidays to work on the engine. Then I'll do the same for the LC2 :D

If you're buying the intercooled motor from Dereck I would just do a swap and forget about the hotair motor. Use it for an anchor for your boat ;)

Built right that BRF 200 can take you into the low 10's so I wouldn't bother with a 400. Too much work invloved and no overdirve.
